My favorite B-52 photo is this flyby of the Beale AFB Titan I missile site in 1962.

And that photo would have been all the more impressive of the Titan I missiles and silo’s and their guidance systems had a better than 50% reliability record.

then again, did they NEED a 99% reliability record, if the Russian missile were even worse?

I was at an air show once, where a B-52 flew over at about that altitude with its bombbay doors open.
