Sean Penn Sat for Secret Interview With ‘El Chapo,’ Mexican Drug Lord
NYT ^ | 1-9-16 | RAVI SOMAIYA

By 15, he said in an interview conducted in a jungle clearing by the actor and director Sean Penn for Rolling Stone magazine, he had begun to grow marijuana and poppies because there was no other way for his impoverished family to survive.

Now, unapologetically, he said: “I supply more heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana than anybody else in the world. I have a fleet of submarines, airplanes, trucks and boats.”

Though his fortune, estimated at $1 billion, has come with a trail of blood, he does not consider himself a violent man. “Look, all I do is defend myself, nothing more,” he told Mr. Penn. “But do I start trouble? Never.”

Penn is an Anti-American Sh*T Bag, just like his father.
Should be imprisoned for treason, or better yet, make him watch all of his own movies on endless re-runs!

Mr. Penn brought up Donald J. Trump, the Republican presidential candidate; there were some reports that Mr. Guzman had put a $100 million bounty on Mr. Trump after he made comments offensive to Mexicans. "Ah! Mi amigo!" Mr. Guzman responded.

I guess he's saying he wouldn't kill his "amigo" Trump.

Very interesting article.

Too funny. That’s probably how they caught El Chapo. By following idiots like Sean Penn around. If I were Sean, I’d be looking over my shoulder. El Chapo’s henchmen must be pissed.

I think Penn can be extradited to Mexico for this. “Journalists” have protection here.

Yes, it is being strongly insinuated that they got El Chapo through Penn.

Or maybe Penn ratted out El Chapo himself ?

Chapo didn’t learn what Osama did. No contact with anyone who has electronics on them.

execute El Chapo, it’s the only way to truly get rid of his influence entirely. Forget about imprisonment. just hang the bastard

Useful idiot is right as Penn probably inadvertently assisted in Guzman’s capture.

El Chapo did not escape prison in the American sense.

Arrangements were made for each time he needed to ‘go on leave’ from prison to attend a family event or deal with some business that had to be done personally.

He didn’t get ‘caught’. He was ‘captured’ so that he had police escort back to the prison.

Much like the illegal immigrants who get ‘captured’ by the INS so they can get a busride back to Mexico to attend a family wedding.

If he disappeared, he said, it would make no difference to the drug business.

How true and how telling of the futility of the lost war on drugs
