I’d like to see senators placed back under the control of the state legislatures.

We could also use an amendment that restricts the president's executive order/executive action capabilities. Almost 8 years of an Obama dictatorship is more than enough.

For many politicians, reading and complying with it would be a good start. If the SCOTUS ignores it and the left is intent on shredding the rule of law, what good will more laws do?

I’m against a balanced budget amendment which sooner or later will be used by these demagogues as a constitutional excuse to raise taxes to “balance” the budget ON THE BACKS OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

THE ANSWER: CUT THE $4 TRILLION FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BY AT LEAST 80% AND GET IT BACK INTO ITS CONSTITUTIONAL CAGE. THAT will fix the deficit issue.

MORE ammendments?
Hmmm, I see it as more laws to ignore or break, with lawyers getting EVEN richer.

Perhaps I am being too negative.

A few of my favorites:

Repeal the 16th and 17th Amendments

Require all states to be bicameral and the upper house State Senate be composed of one senator for each county and be elected from within that county.

Require Congress and Congress only to set the uniform value of currency.

Limit Federal ownership of land within a state to no more than 10% of the total lands of that state.

Require States maintain a separate election roll of voters that is purged 30 days after the new president is sworn in. Require ID to reestablish presence on the roll and require ID to cast a vote.

he would like to see amendments added pertaining to a balanced budget, term limits, and restoring power to state legislatures

Cruz has what Trump doesn't.

“restoring power to state governments”...the founders used all the words at their disposal to limit the power of the feds. Over two and a half centuries, the wordsmiths have contrived to redefine enough words to render the original intent meaningless. Stare decisis insures that once the camel’s nose is under the tent, the camel is protected from expulsion in perpetuity. Human nature guaranteed that outcome.

It is always good campaign fodder to call for something you personally never have to deliver on. Personally, I think the Constitution is just fine as it is.

How about Cruz explaining how he intends to get our jobs back after his vote on TPA, giving Obama his support on Obamatrade. Just give me some meat 'n potatoes on what is vastly important to the average schmuck trying to live right by his family.

Also instead of trying to do the wrong thing the right way, how about just doing the right thing.

Get to the root issue: the feds have NO constitutional right to meddle in marriage. The Constitution gives the feds NO authorization to meddle in marriage. Simply enforce the Constitution that if it’s not an enumerated power, the feds can’t do it and NULLIFY THESE UNCONSTITUTIONAL FEDERAL ACTS.

We don’t need constitutional amendments to do that. In fact some of these proposals would actually have the effect of validating the original unconstitutional federal acts.

Ted Cruz is a good guy, but he went to law school where they teach you (brainwash you with) UNconstitutional law. You have to manually and carefully sort out the truth from the lies they give you in law school. Few do that. (To the extent I have been able, I have, and continue to do so.)

I’d like to see an amendment that mandates the death penalty more than 1 year after conviction of a capital crime, and reinstate RAPE as a capital crime.

How about just making federal office holders uphold their oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States? Start by impeaching a 3 or 4 Supreme Court Justices. That should send the message that needs to be sent.

Cruz is really getting on my nerves today. Maybe it's because there was ANOTHER email campaign solicitation today, after yesterdays where he requested that "$5 Fridays" be $20.16 Friday in celebration of the New Year. Today's solicitation was a plea for more money because poor Ted has only spent $2 million on Iowa ads, and everyone else is attacking him, spending so much money. Where THE HECK did the $20 million go?

And now this? We don't need to amend the Constitution. We need to enforce the Constitution as it is. It's a very fine document.

If Cruz says he has to amend the Constitution to accomplish all that needs to be accomplished, he's saying he doesn't plan to fix the problems for decades, if ever!

Cruz is right aboout this. SCOTUS has given WAY to much power to minority positions of law.The majority is therefore over taxed, culturally hoodwinked, unrepresented
by the politically correct, and derogated in freedom.

Things mnust change either by the pen or by the sword. CVruz knows that the pen is much better. The left, including Obama, want the sword and have done all they can to make that happen. And they will do a lot more in the summer of 2016.

I think this might be a stumble for Sen Cruz. Not a good idea to bring this up at this time IMO.

Well Mr Cruz it would be nice if you put out your own list of Amendments like Donald Trump did.

I still say that if this process is opened then it won’t be conservatives who are making most of the Amendments.

We would have a different country if those who were violating the constitution we have were locked up and put away.

I disagree with Senator Cruz on this one. We don’t need a bunch of new constitutional amendments. We need a bunch of federal judges at all levels willing to uphold the ones we have. That’s a lot easier to accomplish.

why do we need more amendments? The left doesn’t even bother obeying the constitution itself!

What we NEED are congresspeople willing to prosecute those who violate the constitution

Oh look! Yet another thread filled with people that called for all manner of ammendments a mere year ago and who praised Ted Cruz a mere year ago.

Except now they have turned 180 degrees because they need to pave the way for a less conservative man to be elected.

Cancer-vatism, not conservatism.
