I read an article the other day that said that his Secret Service people love him to pieces, and they have never seen anything like this....they are amazed at how kind he is towards them, always shakes their hands and asks them how they are doing....these guys won’t let anything happen to him....
I’m sure that’s true, because when I saw him in person, the members of his Secret Service detail that I encountered were very alert but also quite friendly. I think he also retained his own personal detail, too, because I spoke with that guy quite a lot.
16 years ago I worked in a Federal Center along with an active duty Secret Service agent. I used to try and get him to talk about the inside scoop on the Clintons.
All he would say was: "I sure miss Ronald Reagan!"
Those guys know how to pass on their observations without violating their trust.
