GOP leaders increasingly see South Carolina as their last best chance to stop Donald Trump's populist political juggernaut.

On Wednesday, influential South Carolina Republican Katon Dawson issued a plea for former President George W. Bush to step into the ring in the Palmetto State's Feb. 20 primary. Bush is quite popular among South Carolina Republicans, and Dawson called his involvement a potential "game changer."

"If [George W. Bush] engages, it will matter for his brother [Jeb Bush], but really, it will matter for the entire team," Dawson told Bloomberg News.

The Palmetto State appears uniquely positioned this cycle. While it follows Iowa and New Hampshire on the primary calendar, but is already drawing intense attention from candidates and pundits alike.

I still have a measure of respect for him. But no ex press should campaign once out of office.

Trump had about 6,500 at the rally last night and turned away another 5,000.

A firewall, moat and minefield won’t be enough to stop Trump in SC.

Yep, it’s going to be “W” and his adapted brother Bill C. campaigning together or the good of America.

So, GW wouldn’t get involved in politics as our country was being ripped from the Constitution because of his respect for the office of the Presidency, but now will get involved to stop Trump. I completely regarded George W. Bush as a great president to this point. No longer.

Based on Trump’s crowd in Rock Hill last night, I don’t think so.

This underhanded subterfuge by the corrupt party is beyond disgusting. The same goes on in Virginia politics. Now that their final argument that Trump could never win against Hillary is no longer credible, they trudge on resorting to old corrupt party underhanded rigging tactics. These guys are like a chicken that has lost its head and doesn’t yet know it, jumping around as if still alive but without a head and a brain.

Unless, of course, you’re Bill Clinton...then you can get away with anything...and I mean A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G. Gosh! I wish we could get rid of the Clintons as much as the Bushes.
