Cologne feels anxiety and anger about Merkel's refugee policy

The heavy police presence outside Cologne's Gothic cathedral is not enough to make 16-year-old Lisa Elsner feel safe going out in a city-center still reeling from mass assaults on women on New Year's Eve.

"Not alone, and certainly not at night," she said, her father nodding in agreement beside her.

They are sitting at a cafe just outside the main train station, which lies in the shadow of the twin-spired cathedral and was the scene of much of last week's violence, in which 121 women are reported to have been robbed, threatened or sexually molested by gangs of men, many of them foreigners.

The area is a bustling hub not only for many of Cologne's 1.2 million people but also for the tourists seeking out its historic sights, and the thousands of revelers due in town for days of raucous Rhineland carnival - now just four weeks away.

On Friday, the city's police chief was relieved of his duties after criticism that the force had been too slow to deal with the attackers.

But as well as raising questions about policing, the attacks have triggered a furious debate about Chancellor Angela Merkel's immigration policy, which saw 1.1 million asylum seekers come to Germany last year, the bulk of them from Syria, Iraq or Afghanistan.

The German Interior Ministry said on Friday that, out of 32 suspects identified so far, 27 were from North Africa or the Middle East, and 22 were seeking asylum.

"IT'S JUST TOO MUCH"

Don’t worry, liberals have the answer. Free abortions for any rape victims that become pregnant.

Three generations after the war, Germany still has no men?

The goal after WWI and WWII was to bread all aggressiveness out of them. And it has worked. I feel the USA is now complicit in their destruction as NATO has become a false security blanket and arm of the EU progressive nanny state and new world order.

This Governor Just Made a HUGE Move to STOP Obama’s Muslim ‘Refugee’ Invasion in Its Tracks

Alabama’s Republican Governor Robert Bentley just announced a lawsuit that will enrage liberals who support Barack Obama’s massive inflow of Muslim “refugees” - and which one legal analyst says could “stop it in its tracks” until Obama leaves office.

Bentley announced that he is taking the Obama administration to court over non-compliance with the federal Refugee Act of 1980.

This is the very law Obama has used to justify his forced invasion of Muslim migrants, many of whom are committing acts of terror and mass crimes such as rape in Europe - and in light of today’s arrest of two Muslim refugees for planning acts of terror in the U.S.

SNIP

The lawsuit asks the court to award the state the following:

A declaration that the defendants have breached their consultation duties and obligations to the State of Alabama under the Refugee Act of 1980.
A complete file on each of the refugees to include medical history.
Certification that the refugees pose no security risk.
A declaration that the defendants may not place refugees within the state unless they have fulfilled those duties and obligations to the State of Alabama.

Some German legal expert came on TV (I live in Germany so I can speak this)...noting that you could arrest a refugee, try him in court, and convict him....but unless the sentence went over a certain period (I think three years was mentioned)....then they couldn’t remove his visa application or approval. That was written into German law, and has been there for a number of years.

All of this coming at a very opportune time. There are three German state elections coming up in mid-March. Normally, state elections aren’t a big deal and no major topics. That’s not the case for spring of 2016.

There is some thought that both major parties (making the coalition gov’t under Merkel) will suffer major losses within the three states.

The ONLY alternate political party that is anti-immigrant is the AfD Party. There are various negatives to the party (some members have a Nationalist Socialist mentality....Nazi), and they don’t have too many platform ideas beyond being anti-immigrant.

Nationally, the AfD folks can claim 10-percent of the public support right now. By mid-March and within the three German states? I’d take a guess they might take 18-to-20 percent of the vote, which would scare the Berlin folks an awful lot. Two more states at the end of 2016 will have state elections, and it could be a national trend.
