Congress sends health law repeal to Obama's desk for first time

Congress sent an ObamaCare repeal bill to the president’s desk for the first time on Wednesday, marking an election-year victory of sorts for Republicans who have tried since 2010 to scrap the law.

The bill repealing most of President Obama's signature health care law was approved in a final 240-181 House vote Wednesday afternoon, after clearing the Senate late last year. The legislation also would strip federal funding for Planned Parenthood.

The measure still faces certain doom at the White House, and Democrats derided the vote Wednesday as pointless. The president is sure to veto, and Republicans do not have the votes to override.

But the political theater marks the opening volley in a fresh ObamaCare fight under the Paul Ryan-led House, and one likely to energize the party’s election-year efforts.

Nobody's uninformed enough to fall for this. The Constitution gives the HOR one way to stop the Presidential override. That's to not fund things in the first place.

The DC pols are disgusting. NOT ONE of them (even those running for Pres) condemned this outrageous Theater of the Absurd.

Only possible conclusion: They must really like the benefits they're getting from insurance companies to save Obamacare.

The GAVE-OBAMA-POWER Party (GOP), who are NOTHING
but slavers (McCAin), IRS abusers (McCain),
Benghazi atrocity protectors (Issa and Gowdy),
and liars (every single one), already funded
their chosen Islamic Caliph (after lying to
Americans to get elected). They are lower than scum.

What are the two ways by which the HOR can stop the Presidential override. (Impeachment?)

“Withhold funding”? These degenerate repubs passed the Omnibus Budget a month ago that gave Clown Prince nobama and his cronies more than they asked for the next 1 1/2 years. This is Kabuki theater.

I’ll say it again. If the president wants to really stick it to Ryan and McConnell and send the GOPe leadership running around the Capitol in complete and utter panic then all he has to do is sign this bill.

I didn’t say they WOULD do it.

I mean, look. They all say, like robots, “we promise no shutdown because elections”, when, thirteen months after the last “shutdown” they won ten Senate seats and became the majority, and also won more House seats than any time since 1928.

OBVIOUSLY, they are committed to accelerating spending, EVEN THOUGH SHUTTING IT OFF IS A BIG WINNER FOR THEM.
