I have a relative in Panama working for a large European firm, and she tells me the illegals from Venezuela are replacing residents at her manufacturing firm.

She says there are a lot of them in Panama, and the businesses like and protect them, because they undercut all the normal wages.

Sounds like the US.

Purely anecdotal, but, whenever I visit the El Cangrejo district in Panama City, I have been noticing an increasing number of Venezuelans (yes, I have asked them, specifically) working at service jobs. Two of my favorite restaurants now employ at least some Vs.

Not that I mind, at all. They are invariably friendly and polite, and, frankly, their Spanish is considerably better than the typical Spanish of the Panamenos.

For what it's worth, and FReegards!
