What a waste of time!!!!! DEFUND THE DAMNED THING AND SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT TO DO IT!!You are a bunch of PHONEY bastard!!

It is mandatory spending, meaning Obama would have to sign the defunding. "Shutting down the government" would have no effect.

In 2016 there are only 10 Democrat seats up for election and 24 Republican seats.

There are 44 democrat and 54 republican senators and 2 independents who are actually democrats. So, it’s 46-54.

A four seat change ties the Senate, and a 5 seat change puts them in control.

The Democrats winning the Senate is probably going to happen.

Just think. When Congress does this in a year, President Trump will sign the repeal!

I seriously doubt it - since he's been campaigning that the problem with Obamacare is that apparently he thinks it doesn't go far enough and that we just need bigger government to solve the problems:

Trump: "We've got to take of everybody - get used to it, conservatives! I love you conservatives - get used to it! Let's take care of everybody!"

Trump: universal healthcare - "the government's gonna pay for it!" "This is an unRepublican thing for me to say..."

Pathetic. Obama will veto it and the veto will be sustained.

Indeed. They do this when they've surrendered all leverage they had to Obama, knowing its passage is a toothless exercise in optics.

I hate them almost as much as I hate the Dems. Even worse, in some ways, because they were supposed to be on our side.

Don’t ask me...I didn’t create that concept...but it is reality. The government was ‘shut down’ before and Obamacare was still moving forward toward implementation unabated.

What makes you think they’ll pass it then? This is BS to placate the R masses.

As commented in several previous threads, this is a face-saving move by McConnell-Ryan (Boehner). They’ve already given Obama all the funds he asked for and now they do this to ask him not to spend on Obamacare and Abortion, etc.

It is pathetic and insulting.

You’re right, but how much more likely was Obama to sign a bill defunding it than repealing it?

No doubt...this is to try to make us forget that spending bill that was just passed.

...he's been campaigning that the problem with Obamacare is that apparently he thinks it doesn't go far enough and that we just need bigger government to solve the problems

You're reading way too much into Trump's statements and grasping at straws.

He has said that his first order of business as President will be to roll back and undo everything Obama's done. He has said this repeatedly, at every rally, and in nearly every press interview to date.

Obamacare is obviously at the top of that agenda.

For those of you in Rio Linde, that would be those that whine and moan and groan about a do nothing congress or the RINO congress that doesn’t precisely toe the pure conservative line, this message is directly to you!

The law will be vetoed by Obama. the congressional exercise is to show with out doubt that the absence of raw political power prohibits accomplishment of that which is desired

The message not given....yet.... is give us the enabling raw political power
