I thought about this too, but the public air space doesn’t start until you are 500 feet up.

I’m waiting for a drone to fall and hurt somebody or damage property...and see how that is handled.

Nope. a lot higher than that....maybe 18,000 or so feet.

Then how in the world does the FAA have any say over quadcopters which are typically never flown that high ?
