Ted Cruz's Surge is Real: Now Leads in California
PJ Media ^ | 01-06-2016 | Michael van der Galien

Posted on 01/06/2016 6:53:40 AM PST by Michael van der Galien

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz not only leads in Iowa, but also in California:

A new Field Poll in California finds Ted Cruz has surged ahead of his GOP presidential rivals with 25%, followed by Donald Trump at 23%, Marco Rubio at 13%, Ben Carson at 9%, Rand Paul at 6%, and Jeb Bush at 4%.

And that isn't the only good news in this poll for Cruz. It also shows that he's now twice as likely to be GOP voters' second choice. This means that he will continue to surge if (or when) some of his rivals get out of the race, which they'll undoubtedly do once they lose (big-time) in Iowa.

Cruz's surge comes despite relentless attacks from his rivals for the Republican nomination and establishment-friendly columnists like the Washington Post's Jennifer Rubin.

And that proves that 2016 will be different from other years. Until this election season, negative attacks from establishmentarians against real conservatives were always successful, which is how moderates like John McCain and Mitt Romney ended up being the Republican nominee. Not anymore. The establishment tried to take out Donald Trump, which only resulted in him rising in the polls. Now they're going after Cruz, and the results are the same. He's stronger than ever before and actually seems to be relishing the attacks.

Regardless, the assault on Cruz will almost certainly continue: the establishment doesn't have another card to play. Attempts to burnish their own appeal aren't working because conservatives have completely had it with them.

“the rudeness of Trump people against the supporters of the conservative in the race have turned me sour on Trump.”

Oh yes the poor “true conservatives” having to hear mean names like “trumpette, trumpanzees, trump tramp” be called rubes, idiots, followers of a carnival barker, fake conservatives....gee that sounds like the holier than thou Cruz freaks that are the real rude jokers on this site, that now want to be seen a pole widdle victims.

Trust me, many of us on the Trump side are far sour to Cruz because off the core group of juveniles that claim to be so upright and true on this site.

It puzzles me as to why Trump's supporters want to be so negative on Cruz.

We weren’t.

But the Cruz supporters made it their mission to make that happen.

Mission accomplished.

Doesn't take much to sway your mind eh?

Obi-Wan - "The Force gives you power over the weak minded"

Luke - "The Force gives me power over the weak minded"

Here's a clue: a lot of Cruz supporters are guilty of the same thing.

I didn’t know Trump supporters were running for president. That’s a lot of people if his crowds at his rallies and his national poll numbers indicate. How will they all fit in the White House? Are there that many rooms?

I’ve come to the conclusion that Trump is a big government Leftie. He will expand the already bloated Federal Government.

Please do the right thing. Vote for a conservative.

So why show up just to post something negative on a thread that is good news for Cruz?

I'm certainly happy to support Trump if he wins the nomination, and that sentiment seems to be shared by most if not all of the Cruz supporters, certainly all of those that I know. The trash talk that I've seen appears to be coming almost exclusively from Trump's supporters, as exemplified above.

I will support Trump or Cruz as my posts will confirm. My first choice is Trump and my close second is Cruz.

I am not happy with either the extreme Trump supporters or Cruz supporters, there are both, trying to bring down the other at this point. We should be ecstatic that we have the most non-establishment candidates at the top of the presidential polls ever! Support the candidate of your choice but let us not try to destroy the two from either side. Keep the eye on the ball and that is not to allow an establishment candidate win.

I was trashed “on a Cruz thread” for not going along with everything that was said.

I didn’t know we were only supposed to preach to the choir.
Now I usually avoid Cruz threads - they can tell themselves what they want without questions from me.

I’m getting sick and tired of this BS, to the Cruz and Trump supporters cut the BS! If the candidate we support loses are we going to sit home and mope(only morons will).Besides these 2 what are our choices, Rubio,Christie or Bush? So how about cutting the BS folks as only you perpetuate it.
