Trump: I’ll close deal, win Republican nomination [agrees with Cruz on Oregon]

The standoff in Oregon. Armed protesters on Saturday night broke into a federally owned wildlife facility and indicated they wouldn’t leave until the U.S. government halts its “tyranny.” Cruz and Rubio on Monday called on the protesters to “stand down.” Trump on Tuesday agreed: “You have to maintain law and order, no matter what.”

I think Trump and Cruz both missed it on Oregon.

You have to maintain law and order, no matter what.

Problem is that "law and order" is a one-way street these days that applies only to Conservatives/Republicans.

Everyone else is free to do as they please without any consequences for their behavior.

These aren’t rioting inner city negros or filthy “99%ers” so they better pack up and go to jail or be gunned down. You’ve already seen the wishful thinking of the loudmouth lefties who get a national microphone every time they have an opinion to spout.

I do not agree with their tactic of taking over a building as a protest. To gather information yes. But to set up to be martyrs no. And that’s what it appears to be.

Its accomplishing nothing positive. The Message; that the federal government has no Constitutional authority to own the land at issue inside a State per Art 8 sex 17 is already out there and people are discussing it. So what is to be gained by continued occupation?

I don't know what would have been the right response. If either of them said, stand your ground, they would have been accused of inciting violence. This is a dammed if you do, dammed if you don't situation.

From a legal standpoint, the law and order approach is correct. I do think there will be a civil war which Obama and his accomplices are itching for, and you can be sure that, unlike Black Lives Matter, there will be no hesitation about using force to quell the insurrection. We have to be sure we are prepared for the conflict and its potential consequences and I'm not sure our side is prepared.

It's one thing to defend one's land and property from a tyrannical government agency, but quite another to go off said property and seize or occupy a federal building. The Founders would have had no problem stringing these guys up---witness Shay's Rebellion and the Whiskey Rebellion.

"In monarchies the crime of treason and rebellion may admit of being pardoned or lightly punished, but the man who dares rebel against the laws of a republic ought to suffer death."

--Samuel Adams, 1786.

You can turn this (exagerated):

“ “Myra Belle “Sally” Miller — the 195”8 Miss Arkans”as who said in 19”92 that she had ”had an affair with Clin”ton in 1983. ”She claimed” that she” had been ”warned no”t to go public by a Demo”cratic” Party official: “They knew that I went jogg”ing by myself and he couldn’t guar”antee what would happen to my pr”etty little legs.” “

Into this:

"Myra Belle "Sally" Miller -- the 1958 Miss Arkansas who said in 1992 that she had had an affair with Clinton in 1983. She claimed that she had been warned not to go public by a Democratic Party official: "They knew that I went jogging by myself and he couldn't guarantee what would happen to my pretty little legs."

Real easy here:

Last I looked, most of the thugs who trashed Ferguson and Baltimore were walking around free as little birdies. Not to mention the pukes from Occupy Wall Street.

I am a Cruz supporter and I disagree with both Cruz and Trump on this issue, the law is wrong here and these good folks are doing what needs to be done to bring too light how the government has become so aggressive against the people, this is just a microcosm a snapshot of how much tyranny there is, they let the law work its system and the law failed them, there is little to no justice under tyranny.

It is time we the people refuse to be ignored, we have the constitutional authority to DEPOSE a tyrannical government and thus far we have failed to do so, here we have a another spark and far too many conservatives are all to willing to side with the tyrant, these folks are not wrong.

You are right about that. What I didn't like about what both Trump and Cruz said is they put the rule of law above necessary civil disobedience. The rule of law being first and foremost would have prevented our Revolution. A more balanced approach stressing that there are legit concerns here about government over reach would have been the better approach.....

And even though their own monarch is in charge of this former republic.

It should be pointed out to both gentlemen that “law and order” is a two-way street. And while both of them likely intend to direct the government to not engage in wholesale corruption, dishonesty, oppression and violence, in their administrations, that this is *not* the state in which the people find themselves today.

So do not promise us “law and order” in the future. Right now you cannot protect or defend us. But if *we* can hold the line against tyranny *until* you are elected, we *demand* that you give us legal redress against those that are oppressing us right now.

To put it bluntly, federal officers have violated their oaths, their trusts, the law and the constitution. When you are elected, we expect you to put them in prison.

And, in the meantime, give them fair warning that what they are doing is wrong, anti-American, and criminal, *and* that they can *expect* to be punished in the near future for their wrongdoing, oppression and vice.

We, the people, are striving to be non-violent in the face of these brutes and ideologues. Do not ask us to surrender them, our lands, our weapons, our wealth, or our posterity to them.

We did not unilaterally disarm before the Soviets, though that is what the Democrats wanted to do. So do not ask us to unilaterally disarm before the Democrats, who are increasingly striving to emulate the Soviets in their abusive and even murderous behavior.

Maxine Waters can direct rioters to attack Korean businesses and get away with it — she’s a democrat. Obama can threaten businesses with violence like the ring leader of a goon squad because he’s a democrat.

Please don’t expect a republican to be treated the same way. Remember Trent Lott? Career destroyed because he said something nice to a retiree during a party who happened to once be a segregationist.

[Of course, FRiends here helped kick Lott out over his sabotage of Clinton’s impeachment, but that’s another matter.]

I think it would help if Cruz/Trump were to add one more thing to this scolding — “I hate tyranny too. I really hate it, and such outrage should be expected by tyrants even though I don’t support illegal actions.”

And also ...
