In an interview with the Washington Post on Tuesday, Donald Trump said Ted Cruz' Canadian birth would be a "big problem" for the GOP.
"Republicans are going to have to ask themselves the question: 'Do we want a candidate who could be tied up in court for two years?' That'd be a big problem. It'd be a very precarious one for Republicans because he'd be running and the courts may take a long time to make a decision. You don't want to be running and have that kind of thing over your head," Trump told the Post.
"I'd hate to see something like that get in his way. But a lot of people are talking about it and I know that even some states are looking at it very strongly, the fact that he was born in Canada and he has had a double passport."
Cruz responded by tweeting out a famous scene from the show Happy Days, when Fonzie jumps a shark while water-skiing.

I don’t see an actual problem, but the concern is legitimate to bring up.
We brought it up with 0.
How many times is this article going to be posted, seriously.
Cruz was born a citizen. No one disputes that. There is a question as to whether being born a citizen necessarily makes you a natural born citizen. For some reason I spent my entire life believing that to be president you had to be born in the country. I don’t even remember anyone disputing that... Until recently.
I listened to Trump comment. I disagree but his question is legitimate. Do we want a candidate that will get sued regarding his citizenship?
Very true.
Trump has a point. Just because Republicans wouldn’t/couldn’t challenge Obama, doesn’t mean democrats won’t challenge Cruz.

Trump didn't question his citizen ship, he said it might be an issue if he's nominated. It would be "stupid" to think otherwise.
Cruz is acting a little worried and just might have jumped the shark himself.
It shows that Trump is getting nervous.
Cruz is absolutely right about this.
Actually, he did raise a question about it.
“For some reason I spent my entire life believing that to be president you had to be born in the country. I donât even remember anyone disputing that... Until recently.”
When I was in school, we were taught that “natural born” meant that both parents had to be citizens. And that was before any of this became, all of a sudden, mysterious and unclear.
I guess it’s the way you read the law...some say he is, some say he isn’t, I think Rubio is more at risk on this than Cruz, but what do I know...
I don’t think Trump meant anything bad by how he answered it, I think it has to do with obuma and how that was handled...which I think we should vet heavily on anyone running for POTUS...we didn’t with obuma and look where we are...
I don’t want a long, drawn out election like we had with Bush/Gore nor do I want another ‘politician’ like the one we have in office now...so I want to know these answers also, I don’t think that is to much to ask....

Well there you have... Something you believed.
agreed. It will be brought up in a general election. guaranteed.
Trump is for touch-back amnesty.
When I was in school, we were taught that ânatural bornâ meant that both parents had to be citizens*******************
I was also taught that....even in college that is what they taught....
