Tennessee State Representative Andy Holt sent a letter to President Obama today, telling him to "take your gun control and shove it."
The aggressive statement comes just after the president's announcement that he will take executive action to tighten restrictions on gun purchases by implementing more thorough background checks.
Holt, of District 76, cited James Madison's Federalist Paper #46. In it the founding father said that states have the power to oppose the federal government through legislation. He referenced, for example, HB1341, a policy that bars the State from supporting the enforcement of federal gun control measures.
Holt said the constitutionality of Obama's actions is irrelevant due to the fact that the president cannot make states enforce federal policy.
"If the feds want to enforce the law, then they can come here and do it themselves," he said.
Gun control is one of the most contentious topics in Washington and in the upcoming election. While there is a lot of support for expanding background checks for the purchasing and selling of guns, many Republicans are against any new restrictions on firearms and are particularly troubled by Obama's use of executive action, saying it infringes on Second Amendment rights.
However, the president contends that it is possible to follow the Second Amendment while taking action to address gun violence. He delivered an emotional statement earlier today, saying that taking action for stricter gun control is "not a plot to take away everybody's guns."
Regardless, Holt said states may refuse unpopular jurisdiction, ending his letter with #MolonLabe, a Greek expression meaning "come and get them."

But see, the state won’t ACTUALLY nullify his decrees. You see, the state gets FAR TOO MUCH in terms of federal $$$$ that will stop as soon as they do. As much as I appreciate Mr. State Legislator’s comments, it means nothing.

Ever since learning of Obama’s personal history, and that he is an illegal alien, eight years ago, I have known that, if he could do it by pushing a button, Obama would kill everyone in Israel and everyone in the United States.
The real question of the year 2016 is:
Will Obama make an attempt to kill all Americans in one massive attack—for example, by attempting for a second time to set off an EMP over the Midwest to knock out the electric grid?
OR:
Will Obama be content to leave office having succeeded in opening the borders to tens of thousands of “sleeper” Muslim terrorists, in crippling the American economy through Obamacare and onerous banking regulation, shutting down half of the country’s power plants, shutting down meat producers, etc., etc.?
OR:
Will Obama remain in “office” beyond January 2017, and continue to destroy the American people at more or less the current pace?

Here’s my intuition(paranoid fear) whichever anyone would like to call it. I think Obama’s messages to the public before the holidays to “enjoy your holidays, there’s no credible threat” was a stealth message to the invading muslim army that he’s been installing all around us to stand down. At some time in the next year; I think he’ll call them to action.

I'm not sure if it is still the policy, but Israel used to bulldoze the homes of terrorists. That way, if a guy wanted his 72 virgins, his family suffers. Here, I'm sure if 0bama and the dems had their way, the terrorist families would be provided welfare for life and put up at taxpayer expense in a luxury condo.
I don’t think Obama is THAT KIND of Muslim. By which I mean “a believing Muslim.” I think he is an atheist who views Islam as the Voice of the Oppressed, just as Christianity is the sham religion that serves as the Voice of the Oppressors.
I am certain that Obama would like to see Muslim terrorists and Womb Jihad destroy the U.S.A., but wants to live out his life as a hero to the Muslim world, not a martyr.
The only other aspect of “gun control” he can affect via executive order would be to reclassify some currently imported shotguns as no longer meeting the “sporting purposes” test, and ban certain classes of ammunition for being “armor piercing” because of a mild steel core. (Another attempt at banning 5.56 Green Tip.),P.

Kudos to State Rep Andy Holt but all these gun disputes are ultimately decided one way or another by our so called “Supreme” Court. Now that John Roberts and certain of his benchmates have drug the reputation of the Court into the mud with Obama and the lefties/socialists/marxists, we effectively don’t have an ULTIMATE arbiter anymore.
So, now What?
We all know that answer.
Tennessee...sounds good to me. This is why so many conservatives around the country are choosing Tennessee as their new home.

said the same thing about three years ago.
if I go to the gun show this Saturday will they require a back ground check on the shot gun I acquire in trade for my other shotgun
