However, Barry cannot possibly climb down from the perch of his bold proclamations, so he tries to run a little shuck-and-jive which might at least create the appearance that he has done as he decreed.

Bingo. Plus he gets TV time to stammer, whine, and pretend he's in charge. My TV set needs fumigating after that.

Might have been born to it. It’s hard to leave...there are threats made about telling the secrets you’ve been told...or so I’ve heard. :)

I suspect the intent is to chill private sales, internet gun websites, and drive prices up.

I hate the Bastard!

Because that's what this going to do--drive up prices and cause local private sales to go paranoid, wondering--when I'm trying to buy what looks like a good deal--whether I'm a BATFAG agent.

FU democrats and the Barrack you rode in on!!!

Not a single thing here is going to stop another Sandy Hook or Virginia Tech; just make a huge burden on us honest, law-abiding, never-would-commit-a-massacre-for-any-reason, not-insane Americans!

Here's another thought that hasn't been mentioned. If your doctor prescribes you anti-depressant medication, will he also be required to notify the feds?

Recently I became Medicare primary which also applied to my company sponsored drug plan. In an attempt to quit smoking, I asked my doctor to prescribe me with Chantix. Well, for the first time ever, it was rejected by my new drug carrier and my doctor was required to submit additional documentation outlying the necessity of this drug. It took two weeks before the approval came thru from the feds to the pharmacy.........

So it's not unreasonable to believe that a flag could be placed on my records which would create a temporary rejection if I were to attempt to purchase a firearm and a background check was performed.......

“If your doctor prescribes you anti-depressant medication, will he also be required to notify the feds?”

Wouldn’t it? You or one of your family members living at your residence...

All doctors now ask about weapons.

I’m safe, the “making a profit” part of gun selling is something I’ve never mastered.

Unless you're a dealer making a purchase at distributor prices and selling at retail MSRP, you aren't likely to be making a profit. Once you fire it, it goes from NIB to used. Now you have a "blue book" evaluation of age and condition as well as "market value" considerations. I have a firearm purchased in 1999 for $437. The same model sells for over $1100 today. If it was still NIB, one might argue "profit" if sold at current MSRP. It's not really. It's is inflation and dollar devaluation. If you purchased yesterday at distributor prices and sell today at MSRP, then you certainly intended a "profit".

They appear to be deliberately writing the “executive action” so it complies with the actual, existing law, while stating quite plainly they intend to extend the reach of the law by interpreting it in the strictest possible manner (against their targeted demographic, of course).

This is another example of how the Obama regime corrupts everything it touches - by obfuscating their intent.

Still doesn’t sound meaningfully different from before (exact wording briefly unavailable). Seems a marginal expansion to “if your buyer can’t tell if you’re not in the business, you are.” Unintended consequence is he’s restored the whole “kitchen table FFL” category. Net slight win for us.

The Sig arm brace for rifles was first ruled by ATF to NOT be a stock. Then when a youtube video surfaced of someone placing the brace against their shoulder the ATF made a new ruling contradicting the first ruling.

That is precisely why I don't have one in my equipment. The AR pistols have naked buffer tubes. The number of pistol lowers equals the number up pistol uppers. Ditto for rifles. Had a Form 1 (EFORM) approved, but I spotted an error. Had to have it voided after waiting 4 months with $200 tax collected immediately. DOJ rep says I can submit a corrected copy, pay the (refunded) tax again, and submit the original control number to reduce the wait. Making sure the paperwork is 100% correct.

Exactly.
Ruby Ridge happened under GHWB and was a gun dealer setup.
ATF asked him to make a shotgun w 15” barrel.
After being badgered into doing it, they staked out his home and killed his unarmed wife.

Bush response was to blast conservatives for calling ATF “Jack booted Thugs”

Every FR member needs to see that this is a gun dealer setup.
Designed to make every gun owner into a potential gun dealer and thus vulnerable to Gov strongarm tactics.

Fast and Furious was also about reducing dealers. They have been attempting to reduce dealers forever and it has been working.

Expect Obama to make some examples out of private sellers by having them publicly SWATed...just to keep the sheep in line and throw some red meat to his rabid left followers.
