Rally around Trump is all about WINNING.
Trump can win. Largely because he is a Populist and has not swallowed the hook on the entire Chamber of Commerce agenda. Hence he retains some credibility with most voters.
A traditional Conservative likely cannot win in this cycle because the Chamber of Commerce has been p*ssing in the pool and destroying their brand for too long. (Ted Cruz looks dandy until first contact with the H1B issue).
The country is on the verge of being gone anyway. Actually electing someone who is NOT a Liberal Democrat is our last hope.

Actually, Trump's poll numbers in the general election are lower than both Cruz and Rubio, who are both beating Hillary. Trump I believe is only doing better than Jeb Bush, but then again a dead snail would get more votes than Jeb.
