He wasn’t questioning Ted Cruz’s religion...Ted Cruz was born in Canada remember???

He was questioning Ted’s father’s religion, and they are mostly Catholic in Cuba...

Trump supporters have developed concern trolling - about every candidate but their own - to a fine art.

I thought it was a silly statement by Trump, but perhaps it was so he could pretend to have “attacked” Cruz too without doing any real harm to the candidate closest to the positions he is advocating. I don’t hold the comment against either Trump or Cruz.

Trump’s own words. He has no clue about Christianity or the Gospel. None, whatsoever. If you can’t ask God for forgiveness, then you can’t ask God for Salavation. If he died today, he wouldn’t be spending eternity in Heaven. All the “good works” in the world does not save a man. And if Trump can’t see that, well too bad for him.

“a fine art”

In the same way Black Lives Matter have taken grievance protesting to “a fine art”.

I used to wonder in the back of my mind why he said that, then I realized that he most likely knows exactly what he’s doing. I’m just waiting for it...

Worry abouit your own position with God and quit judging others. All that does is hurt your candidate..

This election is not about electing a preacher. Reagan was no big religious guy either. He won twice and did a hell of a lot for America.

Not too many constitutional conservatives come out of NY.

Really?

Alexander Hamilton and John Jay are two that come to mind...

> Like the WashPo is really concerned about this. If Ted gets the nomination, I can guarantee you that WashPo will use his religion as a way of trying to disqualify him.

which will backfire because more people have probably been saved the last 7 years than at any other time in the last 50 years as this administration has proven that Satan really does exist.

What Trump meant is that most Cubans are Catholic. Its not like Cruz comes from an evangelical background of generations. That is what Trump was talking about.

The fact that you’ve got to reach back that far is telling.

Reagan was no big religious guy, eh? Let’s see Trump write something like this:

http://creation.com/ronald-reagan-on-the-divinity-of-christ

You don’t get it. You keep attacking believers as if they’re looking for a “preacher in chief”. That’s not the point. The point is the principles that are essential to proper leadership. George Washington’s Farewell address (which use to be required reading in schools but has been removed for it’s religious connotations concerning the relationship between Christ and morality).

Trump thinks “going through the motions” equivalates to being a Protestant. It does not. If he understood the Gospel, he would be asking for forgiveness everyday like all believers in Christ do.

Trump said himself in Iowa earlier this year that he had never asked God to forgive him for anything.

And because of what you just wrote the Iowan evangelical caucus voter should think a little more about whether Cruz is an evangelical. No doubt he is christian but not so much an evangelical christian. In a contest for votes Trump is putting doubt in some of the voters minds.
