You're only half clever. America IS a great nation, a nation which has been blessed by God, and yet we are certainly a nation that has been backsliding due to the moral bankruptcy which we have allowed to take root and we have failed to eradicate such immorality.

Perhaps this analogy will help to illuminate your cloudy thinking: a boxing champion holds the title belt, but gets sloppy, gets lazy, and pretty soon they no longer have that title. That doesn't mean they are no longer a great champion in the past tense, that can't be taken away from them. But their CURRENT state certainly demands hard work and training IF they are to regain the title they lost for whatever reason. In our case, the majority of Americans would agree that we are (and remain) a great nation, however our 'title' and our skills have been diminished over the past decades, due to our own inability to stay focused, stay moral and do the right thing. THAT is what Trump is talking about when he says "Make America Great Again" which BY THE WAY is the SAME slogan that Reagan & Bush used as THEIR campaign mantra in 1980.

You are trying to deflect your own words which were quite clear, you said "America is not great". And your posse of apologists may all say "ohhhh poor demshateGod, WE know what you meant" but that does not negate what you said which is why I called you on it.

Actually, I think America is not great. I think the constitution is great, the Declaration is great, and our history is great, but what America stands for now sucks.

That is a most interesting interpretation of our current situation. I am not privy to, nor would I pretend to understand what God’s plan is regarding our Nation, however your quote from de Tocqueville certainly applies.

It has been my consistent position that the Trump-haters are doing more harm than good, by their words and deeds they are aligning themselves not only with Trump’s enemies, but with AMERICA’S enemies, the ‘RATS, RINOs, the damnable GOPe, the lamestream/libtard media ad nauseum. They fail to see this.

If all of the above leftist entities hate Trump, what does that say to us? If we had each and every one of the cable snooze networks pushing Trump 24 hours a day, hailing his positions, would that not mean they WANTED Trump? But the reverse is true, they have spewed their most venomous diatribes at Trump (just like some misguided FReepers here) and by so doing, they make the job of our enemies that much easier.

And I have also consistently exhorted my fellow Trump supporters to refrain from attacking Ted Cruz, I was supporting Cruz in the beginning before he OR Trump entered the race. We are all on the same team. If we’re not working together, we cannot hope to prevail, i.e., “A house divided against itself cannot stand”.

I moved out of N. Hollywood 10 years ago, and during the 15 years I lived in there we lived next door to our church, and that was our polling place. I walked out my back gate to vote first thing in the morning every election.

When it was a primary, I saw the stacks of ballots. Maybe 1 1/2 inch high pile of Republican ballots and two 6 inch piles of Democrat ballots.

Granted, when we lived up on the Mojave Desert there was a substantial Republican presence, but in the cities it’s just plain SCAREY!

I did rally as many conservatives as I could to vote but there were few. Being right in the Hollywood area surely was a factor, but tell me, where are the densities of California conservatives?
