“Carry concealed, what they don’t know wont hurt them...”

Political correctness. Who cares if whoever “they” is are hurt, or what? offended? Especially considering “them” being offended is that they are not entitled to not being offended. They’ll get used to seeing free Americans around them.

If you and I want to carry concealed personally, power to us. I carry concealed myself but there are benefits to some folks carrying open as at least here in AZ, the public is used to it, and concealed is legal w/o paperwork so seeing open carry and still having to figure there are probably at least as many people carrying concealed at any public place make for very iffy propositions to those with evil intentions.

Also with constitutional carry, if one is carrying open and puts on a coat that covers his pistol, he’s not then breaking another unconstitutional law about carrying concealed without a permit, and vers-visa if he is carrying concealed and his pistol somehow shows he’s not in violation of some ridiculous regulation that is purely a violation of his rights anyway.

The closer we get to carrying arms not being an issue, the better. And to be divisive about carry methods is just that; divisive.

Now, is my opinion divisive?

"you can't ccw or open carry in a liquor store in texas?"

Nope, or in any business that generates more than 51% of their revenue by sale of alcohol. But the good news? You can carry in the banks.

Actually, you're wrong. Carry in a liquor store is perfectly acceptable just like any other business. The 51% you are referring to only applies to locations that make more than half of their revenue from alcohol sales, for on-site consumption. Also, this isn't a sign you can just put up - if you don't make it to the 51%, the sign has no legal bearing. If you do hit 51%, you are required to post the sign. TX has a 51% look-up somewhere, so you can verify if the place you're going actually is a 51% location or not, but I forget where it is. Side note, here the GovCode that says on-site only:

Can they actually opt out of the law? Can anyone just opt out of any law they don’t agree with? I don’t get it.

They aren't opting out of the law, they're following it to ban carry in their stores. Even though open carry just passed, there are provisions for businesses to legally ban open/concealed carriers from entering their locations, which is by posting the required signage, as per 30.06 or 30.07.

>> I really don’t see how they will survive by denying service to Open Carry Texans.

Personally, I think that only a small number of folks will open carry — a small enough number that refusing them service will not threaten the success of HEB in the least.

I laughed when I read your post. I seriously doubt that more than 1/10th of 1/10th of 1/10th of the elite female shoppers at Neiman-Marcus would ever have a firearm permit, and even if they did, the likelihood that they would carry a Glock to buy a pair of Tory Burch boots or a bottle of Chanel Allure is laughable.
