Read it. You will then be prepared for the executive orders that Obama will try to get through. Remember, the criminals in Congress in DC already gave him the money in the egregious Omnibus Bill. Call your congress person and tell them no way. This bill will do nothing to stop terrorists. It will just make protecting yourself harder.

Yes, they really are coming for your guns, and they aren’t being coy about it in the slightest.

A pathetic contingent of liberty-hating, anti-American Democrats have introduced H. R. 4269, “To regulate assault weapons, to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited, and for other purposes.”

Yes, they’ve proposed a bill that directly counters the wording of the Second Amendment to the Constitution. They are that brazen in their hatred of your natural right to armed self-defense.

They would like to outlaw the vast majority of the best-selling rifles, shotguns, and handguns in the United States, any device or part that could “accelerate the rate of fire of a semiautomatic rifle,” (which could mean literally anything depending on ATF interpretation), parts kits that enable citizens to build common firearms, and standard capacity magazines.

But they aren’t done yet.

Unlike the 1994 “assault weapon” ban, this one will make it “unlawful for a person to import, sell, manufacture, transfer, or possess, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, a semiautomatic assault weapon.”

They intend to make it illegal to transfer any of the tens of millions of firearms that they would ban, with then specific intent of having all of these firearms be made illegal by simple attrition in the course of a generation.

You would not be allowed to pass down your firearms to your family members, nor would you be allowed to share them with family and friends at the range. When you died, your grandfathered guns would be made illegal, despite their clear and obvious utility as firearms useful for contemporary service in the militia.

This bill is nothing more or less than a direct assault on the Second Amendment.

With the increasing need for a well armed America, and current public sentiment, let alone that pesky Second Amendment, this Bill is going Nowhere.

'the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited, and for other purposes.'

The Supreme Court affirms that rights are not unlimited, via DC. vs Heller, thanks again Scalia. :(

Are they going to come up with a new way to define guns that are scary looking to them or are they going to use the same guidelines as the last ban that came and went and had no effect?

This would seem to be a taking without recompense: ““(t) (1) Beginning on the date that is 90 days after the date of enactment of the Assault Weapons Ban of 2015, it shall be unlawful for any person who is not licensed under this chapter to transfer a grandfathered semiautomatic assault weapon to any other person who is not licensed under this chapter, unless a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, or licensed dealer has first taken custody of the grandfathered semiautomatic assault weapon for the purpose of complying with subsection (s). Upon taking custody of the grandfathered semiautomatic assault weapon, the licensee shall comply with all requirements of this chapter as if the licensee were transferring the grandfathered semiautomatic assault weapon from the licensee’s inventory to the unlicensed transferee, except that in applying paragraph (1)(B)(ii) of such subsection, ‘14’ shall be substituted for ‘3’.

“(2) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to a temporary transfer of possession for the purpose of participating in target shooting in a licensed target facility or established range if—

“(A) the grandfathered semiautomatic assault weapon is, at all times, kept within the premises of the target facility or range; and

“(B) the transferee is not known to be prohibited from possessing or receiving a grandfathered semiautomatic assault weapon.

“(3) For purposes of this subsection, the term ‘transfer’—

“(A) shall include a sale, gift, or loan; and

“(B) does not include temporary custody of the grandfathered semiautomatic assault weapon for purposes of examination or evaluation by a prospective transferee.”

They should always remember that the amendment does not
specify the right of the people to keep and bear SIDE arms.

Crew served weapons make the heart glad.

"Referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary."

Where it will join the " Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2005" through the "Assault Weapons Ban of 2013". (It's an odd-numbered year. The moonbat libs needed a Assault Weapons Ban before the end of the year.) In a couple of years, the Assault Weapons Ban of 2017 will join it.

NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING WITH THIS CONGRESS!!!

I can easily see Ryan let this come to the floor or allow it to be attached to a “must pass bill”.

SEC. 3. Restrictions on assault weapons and large capacity ammunition feeding devices.

(a) In general.--Section 922 of title 18, United States Code, is amended--

(1) by inserting after subsection (u) the following:

"(v) (1) It shall be unlawful for a person to import, sell, manufacture, transfer, or possess, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, a semiautomatic assault weapon.

[...]

"(3) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to any firearm that-- "(A) is manually operated by bolt, pump, lever, or slide action;

[...]

"(4) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to--

"(A) the importation for, manufacture for, sale to, transfer to, or possession by the United States or a department or agency of the United States or a State or a department, agency, or political subdivision of a State, or a sale or transfer to or possession by a qualified law enforcement officer employed by the United States or a department or agency of the United States or a State or a department, agency, or political subdivision of a State, for purposes of law enforcement (whether on or off duty), or a sale or transfer to or possession by a campus law enforcement officer for purposes of law enforcement (whether on or off duty);

[Emphasis in bold is mine. If the bill were to become law, it would appear to make possession of a semi-automatic rifle illegal for anyone other than government agencies and police. It would also appear to render the making of a receiver illegal for anyone other than government agencies, police and manufacturers that sell exclusively to government agencies and police.]

You'd best get a solidly Republican Congress majority in office next election, because none of the front-running presidential candidates can be trusted.

For the record, I have NOT lost any of my firearms in a boating accident. Not only that, but included in my “arsenal” are multiple .45s, 9mm, and even a *gasp* AR-15. I do intend to buy more, practice more, and encourage my family to do so as well. I will NOT comply. III%
