The State Department said on Thursday that it will fail to meet its court-ordered goal of releasing by the end of the day 82 percent of Hillary Clinton's emails from her time as secretary of state.
The agency is expected to release later on Thursday roughly 5,500 additional pages of emails from the private email account that Clinton exclusively used during her four years at Foggy Bottom. But it said schedule problems and the hefty workload prevented the agency from meeting its numerical target for this latest release - the eighth of its kind - and that the State Department will drop another batch next week.
"We have worked diligently to come as close to the goal as possible, but with the large number of documents involved and the holiday schedule, we have not met the goal this month," the State Department said in a statement on Thursday morning.
All releasable emails are supposed to be made public by Jan. 29. The agency likely will have to report to a judge next week about its lapse. Besides being a smaller batch, Thursday's email collection will also be less searchable than previous ones, with incomplete data fields.

FIRE ‘EM. FIRE ‘EM ALL! Enough of their dragging their feet to protect Hillery!
I’m Shocked!
saving the best for last
I want the names of the people going to jail for missing this court ordered deadline! Gowdy has time to pimp for Rubio, how about you get back to Washington and do your job?
What a farce.
Too many on holiday leave. Difficult to redact that many emails with a skeleton crew.
In other news...The price of black Magic Markers has sky-rocketed over the last several months.
Utter nonsense. All they have to do is let up a bit on the redactions, let up on their lawyer parsing, and they could release MUCH MORE than what was expected for today’s release.
I'm sure they are shaking in their boots. Judge will likely be a Marxist/democrat.
“All releasable emails”
Pretty clearly says that some of the material from her private server is so VERY sensitive that it is not releasable.
“We have worked diligently....”
I believe they did, though not to get them released in time, more likely to get them cleansed.
Why the State Dept would be dragging their feet seems puzzling to me.
They could release emails proving Hillary sold military secrets for 2 BILLION dollars and little if nothing would happen.
The MSM would ignore it.. and the bulk of America is either at the mall, or watching football.
They are Fed “workers”. They have never “worked diligently” except to harass taxpaying Citizens. What a fraud. What criminals.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
I have worked diligently to come as close to the goal as possible, but with the large number of documents involved and the holiday schedule, I have not met the goal.........
This inability to release the emails is all OK.
President Trump is going to fire a boatload of these foot draggers, and haul ass after Hillary!.
