They've got themselves covered by claiming that all "extreme" weather is caused by "climate change," even when the extreme weather manifests itself in opposite directions, e.g., hot/cold, heavy rain/drought, heavy snow/light snow, more tornados/fewer tornados, etc.

Here in the NW, last year's light mountain snowfall was hailed as a sign of climate change, and now this year's heavy mountain snowfall is being hailed as a sign of climate change.
