Bush's campaign strategy is a perfect capstone to the ineptitude of the Republican establishment.
One would be hard-pressed to find a better year-end encapsulation of how the Republican establishment has screwed up the presidential contest than news of a certain ad-buy Tuesday. Jeb Bush's super PAC, Right to Rise-after burning through $40 million already-has made a $1.4 million buy in ... Iowa? To go after Sen. Marco Rubio? Yes, the same Rubio who currently polls at a distant third in the first caucus state, one that no one (including Rubio) expects him to win.
The ad itself goes after Rubio's attendance record in the Senate, the same line of attack that Bush tried and failed cataclysmically to stick in Rubio's face in an October debate.

Gotta love how Murphy gets his spin into this story trashing Bush. Its not Murphy's fault. Murphy is loyal. Murphy's impossible task is to turn "inept boob" Bush into a viable candidate. I'd change this argument a little. Bush is horrible but with $100 million, the Bush lackeys and a good chunk of the GOP Establishment behind his back, he should be doing a Hell of a lot better than he is. He should have consolidated the RINO / moderate / Establishment / country club voters behind him already and should be going head to head with Trump and/or Cruz. But he isn't because Mike Murphy is, hands down, the absolute worst major GOP campaign strategist in the past two decades.
Libs, Dims, & the Hildabeast would all love to take on RINO Kid Rubio in the general. Jebito’s only hope is for Trump to lose somewhere (might as well start with IA) and Jebito somehow has a ‘place’ or ‘show’ finish in NH. Then, he can be annointed ‘the comeback kid’ by the MSM. At that point the RNC forces the other RINOs like Kasich, Christie, Rubio, Fiorina, Carson to all drop out, and Jebito become one of the finalists going forward. The only problema for Jebito and the Pubbies is that Hildy would be even happier to bang Jebito like a drum if Kid Rubio fails!
