I always tell people that if they own guns or ever want to own guns to NEVER see a shrink, for ANYTHING. Especially if they live in a state like California.

“Probably not a popular view, but I think even convicted felons who have fully paid their debt to society through fines and/or imprisonment, should have their 2’nd amendment rights fully reinstated on completion of their restitution.”

It’s the term “fully paid their debt to society”. If permanently losing the right to own a gun was part of their debt, then their paying back on their debt is only completed upon their death.

I say it more because of the INSANE IDEA of granting ex-felons the right to vote...when the law has always been that voting rights will not be (routinely) restored. They use the same “fully paid” argument...to fully pay their debt simply means never voting again in their lifetime.

The only way that I would ever support changing those voting laws is if it can be PROVEN to me that ex-felons would tend to vote more conservative than liberal...and I doubt that will ever be the case. Same for Illegals - I am against Amnesty primarily because we don’t need 25 million new DEMOCRAT voters - since that would mean no country left.

I am so SICK of Republicans giving away voting power to Democrats when Democrats would NEVER consider doing the same in return. For example, name one Democrat leader that supports Voter ID - when every Democrat leader knows their arguments against Voter ID are total bogus? They don’t give up a damn thing, and neither should we.

‘’We should both, lib and sane, get to live with the results of our beliefs. We sane shouldn’t have to live with the results of theirs, otherwise what’s the point of being sane in the first place?’’

True. If America survives for 25-30 more years, there could be a logical geographical segregation of libs and conservatives, a self-segregation of sorts. If/when that happens, a civil war could be the next logical step.

Folks, it's here: this state law will be used as a test bed for the seizure of firearms, based on the "perceived" danger to society of the citizen.

Mental competence, judged by the state, will also be the yardstick by which firearms (and eventually other private assets) can be seized.

And if the Calif. law is challenged, it will go to the 9th Circus Court, who will rubber-stamp it and pass it on to SCOTUS - and we've all seen how THEY do business...

No advance notice. No warrant needed.

They'll just show up and kick in your door.

(and eventually other private assets) can be seized.

Yep. Even grandma's "good" dishes...

How may times in the past have I read on this forum, “The Police will not confiscate the guns of law abiding Citizens. It is Unconstitutional.” Or words to that effect.
