The thing with the Clintons is theirs was a marriage of power. They wanted it above all else.
Historically, in such parings, both screw around openly. It’s where the whole “Rich man/mistress” and “Rich wife/pool boy” thing comes from. Most people in such circumstances went into the marriage aware of that. They are not marriages of love so some side action is expected.
If you look at any rich or powerful lib, you often see that scenario...not that it’s exclusive to political liberals. The thing is, people are supposed to turn a blind eye and not make a big deal and the world carries merrily on.
But Bill as President was a bit different than the head of Company x pulling that. And so the left had to be very public in their damage control as it could not be simply ‘blind eyed’.
Many of the original cover up/denial/damage controllers are no longer in the biz or politically influential/active. It’s only the hardcore left that will protect them for the cause. But while they may be well placed in media, they still cannot overcome the internet. And many people today were not even born to live Clinton’s Camelot years. They don’t have that attachment to Bill or Hillary.
As Rush says, The left always overplay their hand.
