I know a ways back that people had a hard time moving about. That wasn’t limited to Germany.
I’m saying you’re not free if you can’t move about, when you want. We’ve come a long ways since serfdom. They want us to return to that though.
They are working hard on it now. It’s taking a myriad of forms, but on the flip side, many are waking up.
Unless you’re Democrat or Gov’t union employee, then the IRS doesn’t care how much you owe.
how about Al Sharpton as well
The Soviets did a lot....the current Russian gov’t does it. I can’t think of a single country where revokes don’t occur on somewhat regular basis. There are certain entertainers who are some forbidden list to the UK today...so it doesn’t matter if they hold a passport or not. I’m pretty sure that the Chinese also review taxes owed and passports on a regular basis....and revoke a few people who owe a debt.
You have a right to free travel. Other countries have the right to decide if you can travel there. See how easy it is?
“So letâs ADD passport to the list of things that the government should not be involved in.”
I’m not against the concept you espouse, the problem is that OTHER countries expect you to have a passport before they’ll let you in. That being the case, we need to have a document acceptable to other countries that we can use for travel.
I don’t have a problem with the US government issuing passports. It’s the revocation of the passport that is the problem. Today it’s the IRS for financial reasons, tomorrow it will be the EPA, the FDA, the DOT.....or anyone else. One can imagine that one must apply to every government agency (and be in their good graces) to get travel papers so that you can be assured your passport is valid. One will have to make a donation to your Congressman to clear problems up, or a big donation for expedited service.
This makes a US passport, and hence US citizenship nearly worthless to any American who wishes to travel abroad.
Unintended consequences? Yes, giving the IRS power to effectively revoke ones citizenship is bound to have unintended consequences, one might imagine.
You are conflating issues. You cite UK entry bans. Countries do indeed refuse entry. You cannot enter Canada, for example, if you are an American felon.
But LEAVING countries, that is usually the hallmark of tyrannical governments. In fact, the two you cite are solid tyrannies themselves: The former USSR and the current Russia, as well as China.
I’d certainly agree with some exceptions: those under current felony criminal investigation, for example. But here, we are denying entry on child support and taxes — civil court matters, at best. I do not agree with this at all.
Go and read the fine-print on your passport application. Your travels are limited by what the State Department develops for rules. People are always hasty in signing the stupid multi-page document....but you might want to grasp what you signed and how they can enforce or create rules.
Have a nice day. Enjoy the self imposed prison you put your self in.
Sickening isn’t it? And that idiot agrees with it.
So, Charlie Rangel can no longer leave the country?
What is disturbing peppy is that you elevate government rules and documents ABOVE the Constitution. You are a fan of the bureaucracy. WTH are you even doing on a conservative site with those beliefs?
There are PLENTY of governmental regulations that are illegal and counter Constitutional....I don’t need glasses to see that. What you need is the ability to understand when this is the case. Your entire argument is because it’s written in government rule books, it’s okay. You miss the entire essence of our fight here.
This is why you have been absolutely lit up by multiple posters here.
pepsi look at what you have been reduced to.....you’ve been reduced to the circular argument that since certain governments have done it, that it’s okay and proper.
And not only is that circular, that’s really scary that you don’t realize that the vast majority of rules put in place by the vast majority of governments over the vast majority of history are unAmerican and anti liberty and therefore evil.
You’re missing the point. Instead of requiring a passport, the government should issue one at your request. Not as a matter of law, but as a matter of courtesy.
Like everything these traitors do, it will start at 50k and go down gradually. Eventually everybody will be in the net.
Watch.
