We watch this every year. For me, itâs the fifth-best Christmas movie, after Ralphie, Alistair Sim (with a cameo by John Steed), Charlie Brown, and Miracle (John Payne is a much cooler version of Kevin Spacey, and I love the way Maureen comes home unbothered by the fact that her daughter is hanging out with an adult man next door, and a pipe smoker at that).
Admittedly not as good as any of these, but I need to add Christmas Vacation to that list. This scene still makes me laugh every year.

Frank Capra was a socialist, and the movie is crap. It’s about “evil” bankers taking advantage of the poor, common folk. Now, the only way “evil” bankers can do this is to get in bed with evil big government. This movie doesn’t go there.

There’s also a barking mad Billy Jack version.
Years ago, he said something wonderfully stupid, so...;)

At that same time, Dreyfuss was out on the streets, protesting something whiny.
