Today’s “Sunday Show” Theme:

“I refuse to believe Trump will be the nominee - the voters will come to their senses.”

“Will the Trump supporters back the eventual nominee, be it Rubio, Bush, or even Carson?”

Many outright and implied comparisons to Trump and Trump supporters as cut from the same cloth as the German fascists of the 1930’s.

As to the Cruz - Wash Compost “cartoon controversy” the consensus was it was “right for the Compost to pull it but Cruz asked for it.”

The all-out assault on Trump, Cruz, and conservatism by the Uni-Party continues.

Holiday Party & Family Gathering Summary From Deep South:

Men ages 65-80: Dyed in wool Democrats will vote Dem regardless.

Men ages 40-65: Trump

Younger Men: Bernie Sanders or Hillary.

Older Women: Lean towards Hillary if they think about election at all, most “undecided.”

Younger Women: Decidedly mixed between Hillary and “undecided,” and some, believe it or not, for Cruz. None for Trump, don’t like his “rudeness.”

There you have it folks. The Republic is in mortal danger. Not because of our “leaders,” but because of the people who vote them into office. Same as it ever was.

Have these experts been right about Trump once this year?

Fact is Trump is crossing all sorts of lines and that will get larger as people see him as serious and talk with friends who are going his way.

Both parties are terrified of a Reagan type landslide.

Great point and it’s not going to happen with zero in office. It will have to wait for a Republican in the White House who will change the Rules of Engagement and who will listen to and allow the military to do what they do best: kill people and break things.

Like it or not. 2016 will see more stalling from our WH and no real action that might irritate Muslims or 0bama’s buddies. All I can say is get used to it. It’s going to be a long year with more ups and downs and more 0bama crap and illegal executive orders.

Speaking of student loans......

.....I got a nephew, son of my niece Connie, whose house I was at yesterday. Kelly lives in Miami because it’s “cool” to live there. But he was home for the holidays so we had a conversation.

First, he once had $10K in an IRA and he took it all out.

Folks, people with no self-control should NOT be allowed to have an IRA or 401-K or whatever brand of tax-deferred money should be called.

The idea is for folks to put aside money tax-free when they’re young and making bucks to be withdrawn later in life to pay taxes upon when income is not so high.

My family, I love them but they’re a bunch of Walmart shoppers because first thing, when they need money they raid the old 401K.

Now yon thread participants, you know that there is a HUGE penalty (hold on and I actually WILL make a connection to the Sunday talk shows with this) for withdrawing this money early, not just for the taxes one would have paid had the money been taxed when earned but I think it’s like a 25% penalty.

In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost that is a LOT of money....DON’T DO IT!

As an aside, and in keeping with being somewhat germane on this thread, Marco Rubio also took a big withdrawal from his IRA and paid big penalties and this is very dumb, don’t you think? Because MArco Rubio has serious money issues and right there I do not support.

Anyway, this kid didn’t pay the taxes and penalty due on such a dumb move and now Maryland is about to take away his driver’s license.

What a driver’s license has to do with taxes due to the IRS I’m not sure but I suppose you must reach the dolts at their level.

So Kelly launches into a rant about how he has paid in to taxes his whole life (he’s 30) and never rode the gubmint free stuff and goodness it was required for me to set him straight.

First, when he was 18 he got a gubmint student loan to go to Spain and play soccer. He owes a fortune for this and the stupid gubmint NEVER should have allowed such a thing.

Second, when that IRA money was deducted from his paycheck, NO taxes withheld and now he must pay. In addition to the horrendous penalty and interest.

Man the kid was full of himself but it ended well, heh, with yours truly who spent a lifetime doing payroll agreeing to help him with his IRS distress.

Student loans are horrible, giving money t stupid young people for an education in exotic dance which will get them NO job but the money must be repaid.

And those who would have an IRA should be tested for an IQ over 30 because it was a good idea, once, but dumb people will do it in.

Bray is right about the fear emanating from both parties. It is impossible to accurately forecast a November ‘16 GOTV model for either Sanders, Clinton, Cruz or Trump. If the throngs of voters that have stayed on the sidelines in the past Presidential elections engage, the traditional red/blue map will be a relic to marvel at.

Too bad we are not slick enough to get Bernie to run third party and assure a win for us for a change.

Good post. There are rumblings all over about what Trumps true numbers are. And they are all said to be much higher than reported.

Love him or hate him he is a genius of self promotion. He is also very good at pointing out his opposition’s weaknesses.

Nailing Hillary on her laziness/health is a stroke of brilliance that is three moves ahead of a normal politician.

Great post Fish.
Truth is student loans are completely out of control.
The way it works from what I have been told is that the Federal govt. backs student loans for banks. They set the amount that they will loan for each college and the college than sets the amount they will charge in tuition and professors salaries. The banks then loan according to what the govt. is willing to cover since banks never take any real risk anymore.just another reason they seldom loan to small businesses.
Its all bogus and student loans have nothing to do with reality. The free market never enters into the equation at all.
I worked my way thru college working as many as three jobs a once to get through.
Today that's unheard of. Student want someone to carry them along the way 24/7.
Big mistake, IMHO.

Of course nobody is going to admit they are voting for Trump. Both sides call you a racist or some other name if you agree with him. Every poll in the last 3 yrs have underestimated the Conservative by at least 10 pts and very likely same with Trump.

You would think a news organization would want to know why he is dominating the election rather than trying to destroy his movement.

Exactly, its what they do.
Amazingly near the end of the election process only days before the election those polling companies who actually care about whether they are right or not miraculously start telling the truth about who is winning or losing. they also start polling the right people for a change all of a sudden 400-500 people being polled turns into 1,400 or 1,500, a much better sample IMHO with a smaller variance as well.

Jon Karl lied on This Week during his interview segment with Justice Breyer when he said Donald Trump cited Japanese internment as justification for a temporary ban on Muslim immigration. Trump cited Presidential Proclamation 2025-2027 not Executive Order 9066. The MSM is so dishonest.

Trump. I get nervous now and then. I would wish he destroyed the media, the GOP and etc.. in an adult style. But, nevertheless ... what does he have going for him and the reasons we are backing this man, Trump?

He will not be controlled by those wealthy donors. Any candidate who is bank rolled by donors, will ditch the people and serve the donors. That means 100% of all who ever ran for President.. UNTIL TRUMP.

He isn’t afraid of anyone. He is the ONLY one who will say it and ditch political correct speech. PC is killing us.

He makes the media, the GOP, and the left.. scared. God bless the man who can do that! Only one.. Trump.

He isn’t from the political class. Only 3 of the candidates fit that one and they are the 3 in the lead.
