Conservative activists are targeting House Speaker Paul D. Ryan for a primary challenge next year as retribution for the massive spending bill the Wisconsin Republican ushered through Congress at the end of the recent session.
The effort is spearheaded by Wisconsin tea party groups and pro-life activists, who feel betrayed by Mr. Ryanâs nearly $2 trillion package.
The spending bill avoided a government shutdown by surrendering on conservativesâ top priorities, including giving up the fights to defund Planned Parenthood and to block President Obamaâs plan to bring at least 10,000 Syrian refugees to the U.S.
The hunt is on to find a suitable conservative candidate who can beat Mr. Ryan, who received 94 percent of the vote in the 2014 primary in his district, which sits against the Illinois border in the southeastern part of the state.

The Ryan campaign team in Wisconsin has shrugged off the threats, treating them as mere talk in the absence of a viable candidate to mount a challenge in the district.
However, there is precedent for a tea party challenger to topple a member of the House Republican leadership. Eric Cantor, while serving as majority leader, lost his seat in a Richmond, Virginia, suburb in a 2014 primary upset to tea-party-backed Dave Brat.

Any current polls indicating his local approval/disapproval?
If that fails, vote Ryan out of office in November. He's the worst of the worst. How many assurances did he give to conservatives that he would respect the conservative agenda?
It sure would be nice to know what motivates his treachery.
It is worth taking him out in the primary or in the general. When they pull this crap, they must know that they will be kicked to the curb. It should have been done long ago with Boehner, but oh, no, that seat in Ohio was SO important. BS. Summary career execution is necessary.
Kevin McCarthy appears to have been a setup from the beginning to get Lyin’ Ryan into the Speaker position.
We threw out the sitting Majority Leader because he was a weasel about to betray us on amnesty.
Ryan deserves to be the next to be Cantorized.
Anybody but Ryan. That includes the Democrat and Communists. Better a commie than a sneaking treacherous weasel.
What motivates his treachery? Married to a rich rino woman—he’s a gigolo like McCain. And you can be sure he’s getting other payola.
7% of Americans think the fact that Paul Ryan is growing a beard is a sign he’s converting to Islam, to 82% who don’t think that’s the case.

That's another one who needs to go.
Somebody brought that up when Ryan was running for VP. Never trust a man who marries for money. He doesn't make his own decisions. It's probably not a bad guideline to consider. If someone married for money or his money in the bank is from a rich wife, WATCH OUT. He doesn't control his destiny.
I hope the good people of Wisconsin find one.
Probably need to primary him. It's a pretty safe Republican district so he'd win the general.
The world isn't binary and he inherited a mess of monumental proportions just a few months ago. It would be refreshing to see an omnibus process that doesn't always hinge on crisis timing and bipartisan tantrums.
And the so called “Establishment” can’t figure out why so many flock to Donald Trump, Paul Ryan is a good example. If need be shut that government down, things work better without most of those crooks any way.
He is such a dolt the democrats were literally laughing at him and mocking him for being such a dolt, and probably found it hilarious that he came on afterwards trying to defend his betrayal
and Franlkin Graham should have not le3ft the party UNTIL it became clear the GOP weren’t going to do anything to punish Ryan for agreeing to what he did-
but the thing is he could have put forth a bill that didn’t fund planned parenthood and didn’t allow importing refugees, but which gave in on other liberal policies and then the ball would have been in the court of the liberals and they would have been blamed for shutdown IF they refused the bill
Boehner, Obama and Ryan got their revenge against those of us who pay taxes and are fed up with Washington’s BS.
