Since the other instance of the use of the term also applied to a woman being defeated by a man in politics (ie Ferraro), I wonder if the actual sense of the term could be summarized as a man showing a woman how it’s done. Examples might be when a man shows a woman how to read a map, or parallel park, or comprehend the rules of football.
