Dear President Obama, Secretary Johnson,
I am writing to ask your help in averting the deportation of Ibrahim Parlak.
For the past 25 years Mr. Parlak, a Kurd from Turkey, has lived an exemplary life in America. Having been granted political asylum in 1991, he advanced from busboy to restaurant owner and became known and beloved by his community. Mr. Parlak has employed dozens of Americans, paid taxes for 25 years, and is a loving father to an American citizen daughter.
When in 2004 DHS moved to deport him, Ibrahimâs family, friends, and community stood by him, and continue more than a decade later to stand by him. In 2005 Senator Carl Levin, joined by Rep. Fred Upton, introduced the first of a series of private bills to protect Mr. Parlak from deportation. Since Sen. Levin retired in early 2015, Mr. Parlak is no longer protected by a private bill and is thus vulnerable to deportation. Based on recent conversations between DHS and our representatives in Congress, we have become aware that Ibrahim Parlak's removal is imminent.
We appreciate that the work of protecting our country is a monumental task, to which discernment is key. Our government must be able to distinguish between someone who poses a real threat to our security and someone who is a genuine asset to our country.
For over two decades, Mr. Parlak has made the most of the opportunity his asylum in the United States has given him, and demonstrated every virtue we could hope to see in an immigrant to our country.
As citizens and members of Ibrahim's family and community, we ask that Department of Homeland Security exercise its discretion and offer Ibrahim Parlak permanent protection from the threat of deportation or further detainment, and allow him to live in peace and freedom in the United States.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Why is he being deported?

He was also, reportedly part of a Kurdish resistance group that was going against Turkey. Reason I know of this is that I was in Turkey during 79-80. Our daily security briefing mentioned that group often. They were not so much against USA but Turkey, but since we were on a joint NATO base with Turkey, we were on alert also.
Interesting, more to the story....
PKK is a Kurdish communist rebel group.
That being said I trust neither the soetoro regime nor the turks.
Yeah..he’s had quite the support from the toady people in St.Joseph Michigan.
Did u = me with Paul Harvey??!! Thanks!!!
Yes you Paul and Eagles6, thanks gents!
