Kind of like the records of a lot of vets were destroyed in a fire? I know when I requested all mine all I got was another copy of my DD-214. That’s all they said they had. Weird huh?

I remember reading about the warehouse fire that destroyed records, going back to the War of Independence. My fathers records were destroyed. Including copies of his discharge. Made it impossible to get the VA to pick up his care, later in his life.

Actually in 1973 there was a records location that had a major fire and resulted in a large number of personnel losing their records from the Vietnam era and prior.
