That is flat out not true. I drove trough Iowa the day before Thanksgiving and back through a couple of days later. 90% of the ads on the AM stations were political ads and every other one was for Cruz. I did hear them also for Rubio, but not near as many. Not a single one for Trump. That is just the fact.
