Santorum had no money, no groud game, no organizations in the early primary states after Iowa. Cruz has all three in abundance. They are even close to being the same.

Beyond that, if I recall correctly, he wasn’t even initially declared the winner. As I recall, Romney got the initial call, and then days later, it was noted quietly in the maimstream media that Santorum finished slightly ahead. So, Santorum didn’t get much of a psychological bump.

That is correct. Cruz campaign received $31 million from just one rich donor, Robert Mercer. Cruz is well funded to carry out his master’s orders.
