You missed my point, which is that Cruz does not have the personality to attract followers and friends. He is opposite of Reagan who got along famously with speaker Tip O’Neill and thus was able to get a lot of his agenda passed through congress and become law. Cruz has made more enemies in US Senate than any senator I can think of in 50 years.

Is that why Cruz has received more small donations from more grassroots small donors than any other GOP candidate and is currently neck and neck with Hilary Clinton, while our “popular” reality tv host is getting clobbered by 10 to 11 points by Hilary Clinton?

Exactly true. People like to watch Cruz and Trump go after the media and RINOs, but the difference is that Trump will turn around and work with them from a position of strength because of it.

Cruz has made more enemies in US Senate than any senator I can think of in 50 years.

Could it be that this particular group of Republican Senators deserve to be enemies.

As a person, Cruz seems engaging and thoughtful. Jeff Sessions and Mike Lee don't seem to be put off by him. And most people who've met him are pleasantly surprised by his demeanor.

Further, recall that Cruz became the de facto leader of a group of conservative House members rather early in the session, hosting Thursday night planning and pizza sessions that set the stage for the Freedom Caucus' resistance.

Finally, in the Senate, ever since Cruz forced a roll call vote that McConnell didn't want on a continuing resolution, you might note that about 20-22 other GOP Senators have tended to vote with Cruz rather than follow the McConnell-Cornyn lead. One senses that the caucus chafes under McConnell's leadership, but that he has the whip hand.

I really believe a lot of people are selling Cruz short -- reacting to a media-distorted image and flawed assessments of his potential appeal. The Xmas infomercial is proof that Cruz has a sense of humor...and the capacity to laugh at himself.

“Cruz has made more enemies in US Senate than any senator I can think of in 50 years.”

Progressives, lobbyists and the establishment RINOs don’t like his principles, spine and conservative fighting spirit.

Cruz has a great personality, great sense of humor, and is not an egomaniac. Cruz has policy depth so his positions are more solid.
