Trump Celebrates Christmas at Rally Talking Putin Praise By JOSH HASKELL JOHN SANTUCCI Dec 19, 2015

Christmas appears to have come early for Presidential candidate Donald Trump as he basked in the praise received from Russian President Vladimir Putin while on the campaign trail in Iowa Saturday.

"Russia's got plenty of problems. But I'll tell you what, if Putin likes me and he thinks I'm a good, smart person, that's a good thing. Not a bad thing," Trump said.

Acknowledging that Trump's GOP rivals didn't exactly think an endorsement from Putin was something to gloat about, the billionaire businessman told the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, crowd in his best Jeb Bush voice "Putin called him brilliant, that's not good."

Accusing Bush and others of wanting to ignite "World War III," Trump pondered what it would be like if Russia and the U.S. could "knock out an enemy together."

"This would be a great start if you think about it. The money we spend on fighting everybody," Trump told his Christmas themed rally.

Weighing in on Saturday night's Democratic presidential debate, Trump called Hillary Clinton "a snake" and Bernie Sanders a "poor guy ... gave this whole thing away," referring to the first debate when Sanders said, "Enough with the damn emails," and said he would not criticize Clinton about her controversial use of a private server while she was secretary of state.

They had Christmas Trees, the American Flags, and Merry Christmas...nice touch....

But a President handles everything. No worries that he’s not got the right training and depth of knowledge for it? Those unnamed expert genies will handle the details?

I get the Trump likability. None of you supporters worry that he is not all that deep? He is a mile wide in fun, power, and explosiveness, aimed at some important issues. I love how Trump says what he’s not going to say, what he’s not going to talk about. Like “I will not say that Hillary gets up, puts on a pants suit, I won’t say that, I won’t SAY THAT!”

Don't jump on me, but Washington was not a particularly deep man. He wrote letters, but not many public documents. Hamilton and Madison wrote almost all his major addresses, although sometimes he would write a draft then send to one of them.

Washington rarely quoted the political giants. But like Reagan he had an intuitive grasp of what would work, what was, or was not, good for the nation.

Like Trump, he was a master delegator, bringing in three geniuses to run the three major departments. And the whole time he had Adams available for advice. I see a lot of Washington in Trump---his experience was largely outside elected politics (the military/business), Trump is a better speaker. Washington often let Hamilton and Jefferson "do their own thing" and report back the big picture results. That seems to be what Trump does with his businesses.

I'm not worried about "the right training" because we have 535 people in DC with the "right training" and they've done nothing but sell us down the river. And sometimes "depth" of knowledge only means "depth of accepted knowledge." Trump strikes me as someone dedicated to changing "the way things are done" which we desperately need.
