I thought Hansen "fixed" the problem when he was at NASA after the outcry of unaudited thermometers still being included.
That is, thermometers that found themselves suddenly in the midst of 10 acres of asphalt parking lots with vehicles soaking up the heat, others that had air conditioner heat exhausts mounted next to them, etc?
No, he "fixed" the problem by adjusting the data from stations out in nice (unvarying) rural environments
upward -- to "match" those in
Urban Heat Islands.
And that ain't "new news"...
