And to think, back in 1934, the government wanted to tax handguns just like machine guns. Long barreled Rifles were considered a true home defense weapons and not controlled.

Then in the anti handgun years of the 1970s, anti-gunners found the SCOTUS miller decision considered short barreled shotguns to NOT be militia weapons, so the disarmament crowd decided handguns were also not militia weapons, but RIFLES were blessed as true Second Amendment protected weapons.

Throughout the 1970s handguns were derided and rifles blessed in TV shows, that is up until about 1984 when rifles were suddenly considered a “target of opportunity” to enact a ban on anything that shoots!
