Which in this case masks a major policy difference between the Cruz voting base and the Cruz big funders.

Cruz speaks precisely and when he refuses to speak on something or obfuscates—there’s a reason for it.

That said, he’s my pick for Trump’s VP—I think they have some very complementary strengths and weaknesses.

“Cruz is slippery—and there’s a reason he’s especially so on this topic.”

That’s why I switched as soon as a good alternative showed up with a better anti-illegal plan. The fact that Cruz waited MONTHS to put forth a plan while the other candidates already had theirs out worried me. Why wait? Unless it’s to appease donors?

His plan is ok. Vague on some things, like deportation is an option. Not necessarily used, but an option. That coupled with this “I don’t intend..” statement shows me he’s still wishy-washy.

We don’t need yet another tough-talking politician that pushes for amnesty the second he gets in the WH.

No

You think he’s getting the big money it takes from them?

“He also has to tell us how many of the illegals will be coming back just like anyone else who might not be pushing for complete deportation needs to tell us how many will be staying”

I’m sure there is no exact number. He said they need to have skills and have a job to go to. And he said it’s unfair to those waiting in line, so those waiting in line will also be counted in the ones coming in. It probably also depends on the jobs that Americans take in the mean time.

Yes, I’d rather he be more specific, but it’s one of those issues where it’s hard to give you an exact number. I’m just glad they are leaving and have to follow the law to get back in. That should weed out quite a few.

You bet it does!!!!

We don't need yet another tough-talking politician that pushes for amnesty the second he gets in the WH.

And that is exactly what will happen should he be elected.

Best of article: “ some Hispanic groups who met with Cruz’s campaign said they are concerned means self-deportation, or making life so difficult for undocumented people that they return to their home countries. “

Sounds like a plan.

The fact that he had to spell it out highlights the sad state of reading comprehension in this electorate.

“The President cannot pick and choose which laws to enforce. Federal Law already states that those here illegally, once apprehended, must be deported. As President I will enforce that law.”

It’s got your favorite word in there: DEPORT.

Sen. Ted Cruz said Tuesday he opposes granting legal status to the 11 million undocumented immigrants

I hope Cruz didn't use that phrase "undocumented immigrants." They are invaders, not immigrants, and the problem is not that they lack documents but that they are here.

Funny. I can’t cite where, but I’ve known Cruz’ position on illegal aliens for months. *shrug*

Exactly.

Leadership is not being  first. It's leading.      And Trump is leading.

Everything Trump says gets covered by the press. What was Cruz supposed to do to get his position covered by the MSM? Stand on his head in a press conference? Cruz has been a leader on all our issues. The establishment tried very hard to make Cruz seem like a nut, or on other occasions, invisible. They can no longer ignore him.

Cruz’s plan will not curb Disney-style firings followed by hiring a firm of H1-Bs.

Cruz’s plan still shoots for 500% more H1-Bs, but he would have a 180 day moratorium on new H1-Bs after getting into office.

That's what I said. Leadership. Please don't whine to me about other candidates' problems getting their message out.

Yes, and they aren’t improved much by entering politics...

Cruz’s plan calls for a halt in all immigration until Americans are fully employed.

Cruz had to be dragged kicking and screaming to this policy point. I don’t think he believes it, and it is the first sandbag that will land on our faces after he takes the oath.

That would be rich irony too. He takes an oath, then he admits he’s ‘evolved’ on immigration, and favors a path to citizenship.

Trump takes the oath, calls Homeland, and tells them to fuel the transports.

“Intend” is a lawyer weasel word. I’m not buying it until he says it in plain language.

No, it does not. Do you REALLY think he said no immigration until 94 million non-working Americans have jobs?

Get freakin’ real.

Vist “La-La-Land,” much?
