In what may have been a case of debate nerves, former New York Gov. George Pataki mistakenly referred to fellow Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump as the "president" during CNN's undercard debate Tuesday night, and Trump's response was nothing short of apathetic.
It started with a question from CNN host and debate moderator Wolf Blitzer, "You've also suggested Mr. Trump's plan is un-American and absurd. Why?"
"Absolutely, it's one of many absurd things this president has said to target a religion..." Pataki responded, but did not correct his statement.
Minutes later, Trump took to Twitter to point out the mix-up. The self-funded billionaire responded by recommending Pataki see a brain surgeon.
Trump has continued to retweet supporters who pointed out the slip.

Go Trump!
Ping!
Pataki prophetic? Who is Pataki? Sounds kinda Muslim to me.
I posted that tweet on the debate thread. Too funny!!
Try to follow along now. His “words” may be prophetic.
God used the mouths of many for prophecy.
But the Word also tells us there are many false prophets.
Pataki beat Mario Cuomo, so he occupies a special place in my heart. That said, he should just go away. Pataki has as much chance of becoming president as I have of becoming Johnny Holmes II.
Follow along.
God used the mouth of a donkey to rebuke the prophet’s (Balaam) rebellion.
Numbers 22:21-39
Try to follow along now.
This attitude is why you get into so many flame wars.
I sincerely suggest that you tone it down and treat your fellow Freepers better.
Your attitude is bad when you come on all of my threads attacking me and refuse to listen to my point of view..
I guess he’s finally right about one thing (even though it was inadvertent.)
Well I will give you that something out of the mouth of Pataki is like something out of the mouth of an ass. But the donkey (as far as we know) only spoke once. To be a prophet of God you have to be right 100% of the time. I don't think Pataki can lay claim to that.
I believe Pataki’s words are prophetic.
Go President Trump!
Your attitude is bad when you come on all of my threads attacking me and refuse to listen to my point of view..
You might have me mistaken with someone else.
I'm offering you an honest bit of advice. You get defensive way too quickly.
Mommy, what’s a “Pataki?”
I really don’t care what you think, and many of you are very hateful.
You and many others need to treat me better as a fellow FR. I am constantly attacked for no good reason. I bother no one.
Additionally, many of you are very disrespectful towards me as a servicewoman. If you don’t like me, great. Jesus loves me. He is all I need and He is the only Person I have to please - not you or anyone else.
And, you have every right to stay off of the articles I post if you don’t like them.
This article is about Pataki. A poster tried to divert attention from the topic. Again, Pataki’s words maybe prophetic, IMHO.
Go Trump!
Sounds like Pataki already has his mind right!
LMAO!
I don’t believe it was inadvertent. I believe it was prophetic.
