Exclusive — Ted Cruz Demolishes Marco Rubio For Breaking Promise He Made To Voters Against Amnesty
Breitbart ^ | 12/14/15 | Matthew Boyle

Posted on 12/14/2015 7:08:09 PM PST by VinL

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% smashed Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 79%, one of his 2016 GOP presidential rivals, for breaking his promise to the voters who elected him that he would not support amnesty for illegal aliens.

The aggressive comments from Cruz about came during the last part of his lengthy exclusive interview with Breitbart News in his Greenville campaign office here last Monday.

They represent one of the most unreported stories in the 2016 presidential cycle: Rubio's work on not just the "Gang of Eight" amnesty bill, but now the recently discovered unlimited mass Muslim migration provisions in his so called "I..squared" bill recently uncovered by a Breitbart News investigation from reporter Julia Hahn.

"Border security is national security," Cruz told Breitbart News in the interview when asked what separates him and Rubio when it comes to national security. "No candidate who has advocated amnesty, who has advocated leaving our border unsecured, who has advocated giving President [Barack] Obama the ability to bring in tens of thousands of Syrian refugees with no background checks can plausibly claim to be an effective leader on national security," he said.

"An unsecured border and millions coming into this country illegally with the promise of amnesty ..with no background checks whatsoever..is fundamentally inconsistent with keeping America safe," he said. "Each of us in public office makes a choice, makes a choice of where you stand."

It remains to be seen if CNN's Wolf Blitzer, the moderator of Tuesday night's debate in Las Vegas, will ask Rubio about his Gang of Eight amnesty bill.

Up until this time, not one debate moderator

Cruz has alway thought the race will come down to him and Mr. Amnesty-- everyone's talking about Cruz v trump, seems Cruz is more concerned about derailing Rubio.

Slick Marco is going to be the GOPe candidate. That’s why Cruz is attacking him now.

Ted Cruz says he is "unequivocally opposed to amnesty" (his exact words) at the 4:27 mark in this video dated May 30, 2015.

Good for Ted Cruz. M. Rubio is not qualified according to the constitution.

Cruz is playing Turtle to Trump’s Hare... for the moment.

Cruz is more concerned with removing the establishment candidate or at least minimize the establishment (rubio) downward ahead of time.

If it benefits Trump in the end, I can live with that.

If Trump falls and Cruz end up vs. rubio it will have been a shrewd move on Cruz’s behalf.

Cruz takes then all seriously.
He’s nailing Rubio on the bet that Rubio thinks Cruz is focused on Trump.
It will also force Trump to agree with him.

Tomorrow should be interesting to say the least.

Didn’t Cruz take money from Club for Growth as well?

My concern about Cruz is that he needs money from somewhere to run. He’s the most legit conservative in the race, but the GOPe wouldn’t fund him and he’d die on the vine in the general.

Cruz defends immigration reform and legal status to illegals so they can “come out of the shadows”:

He’s a maniac.

Trump read his book and totally kookified him with his own words!! After that it was Adios for the “Hit Mommy with a hammer and stab Bob in the belt buckle” boy!!. Carson is finished because of HIS BOOK!!Cruz hang in there smart or you won’t be on the supreme court!!

Cruz is for legal status (amnesty) for illegal immigrates

"And I'd like to make a final point to those advocacy groups that are very engaged in this issue and rightly concerned about addressing our immigration system, and in particular about addressing the situation for the 11 million who are currently in the shadows. If this amendment is adopted to the current bill the effect would be that those 11 million under this current bill would still be eligible for RPI status. [Registered Provisional Immigrant] They would still be eligible for legal status and indeed under the terms of the bill they would be eligible for LPR status as well [Lawful Permanent Resident], so that they are out of the shadows, which the proponents of this bill repeatedly point to as their principle objective -- to provide a legal status for those who are here illlegally to be out of the shadows. This amendment would allow that to happen.

And a second point to those advocacy groups that are so passionately engaged. In my view if this committee rejects this amendment, and I think everyone here views it as quite likely this committee will choose to reject this amendment, in my view that decision will make it much, much more likely that this entire bill will fail in the House of Representantives. I don't want immigration reform to fail. I want immigration reform to pass, and so I would urge people of good faith on both sides of the aisle, if the objective is to pass common sense immigration reform that secures the borders, that improves legal immigration, and that allows those who are here illegally to come in out of the shadows, then we should look for areas of bipartisan agreement and compromise to come together and this amendment --I believe if this amendment were to pass the chances of this bill passing into law would increase dramatically, and so I would urge the committee to give it full consideration and to adopt the amendment."

My concern about Cruz is that he needs money from somewhere to run.

It cost about a Billion dollars for each candidate to run in 2012. If you think Trump is going to fund his campaign out of his own pocket, I can probably tell you why you aren't rich.

Exactly. But in the town halls Cruz is using psychological data to tell his supporters what they want to hear:

And lifelong liberal Donald Trump said he would allow illegal aliens to stay in the U.S. as long as they stay "productive."

He's also a pro-single payer liberal on healthcare. No thanks.

“Cruz, meanwhile, doesn’t back amnesty for illegal aliens—he refuses to have any establishment media created debate about what to do with illegal aliens until the border is finally secured...”

“refuses to have any establishment media created debate”?

That is contrived nonsense to evade a commitment, take a stand. It is amnesty, slow motion.

Cruz has plenty of donors and I am one of them. He has plenty of money to take him through the primary and general election right now - much more money than any other candidate. Trump has money of his own, but he is not going to spend billions of that money. He thinks being on TV will win it for him. It does not. It takes county by county work to win and Cruz has that in place in every state and US possession now. I do not know who will win, but it will not be lack of money or organization for Cruz that causes him not to win. I think he will win.

Though the question was presented to pin point Rubio.......Cruz’s response was “inclusive of ALL Candidates”.....

“No CANDIDATE” who has advocated amnesty, who has advocated leaving our border unsecured, who has advocated giving President Obama the ability to bring in tens of thousands of Syrian refugees with no background checks can plausibly claim to be an effective leader on national security,....

further stating.....”An unsecured border and millions coming into this country illegally with the promise of amnesty ..with no background checks whatsoever..is fundamentally inconsistent with keeping America safe,.....EACH OF US IN PUBLIC OFFICE makes a choice, makes a choice of where you stand.”

He did not mention Rubio at all...only in including with all candidates....the media is saying Cruz “demolished Rubio”....

I bet if Cruz said “Deport them immediately!” before the border was secured, you’d be all for that. I bet you’d think it was the greatest thing in the world to do.

So why don’t you ask the family of Kate Steinle if Cruz saying this would make them feel better? After all, the guy who killed her was deported MULTIPLE times. But due to an unsecured border, the guy kept sneaking back into the country. He kept getting deported and breaking back in.

For people with logical reasoning skills, the first idea MUST be to secure the border and plug the hole, then you can have a debate on what to do with those already here. Cruz is on record as being a proponent of enforcing the current laws on the books, ending sanctuary cities, and strengthing E-verify programs. All of this has the intention of eliminating whatever economic benefits there are with people who overstay their welcome so that there is no incentive to stay.
