We were told our first son had an 80% chance of Down’s. The midwife practice we were using suggested killing him. We declined.

He will be graduating Harvard this year.

With us, our first son was judged to be 50/50 likelihood. We politely declined their invitation to “terminate”... aside from an obsession with playing hockey, he’s a thoroughly healthy, bright, well adjusted, gregarious 13-year old.
