This town is not too bright about solar panels.
A North Carolina town rejected a solar farm proposal after citizens at the Woodland Town Council expressed fears that the panels would take away sunlight from their town.
Jane Mann, a retired science teacher from Northampton, spoke at the town meeting with concerns about photosynthesis and was worried plants wouldn’t get enough sunlight if solar panels were installed, the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald reported.
She also argued that solar panels could cause cancer.
Her husband, Bobby Mann, claimed that solar farms would “suck up all the energy from the sun†and ruin the town’s businesses.

And people wonder why I tend to regard people who wave "science" around with skepticism.
This is a side effect of convincing people that we can significantly affect the climate - so now we have some of these dupes also thinking that we can affect the Sun.
There is a local news source that reports the same story with the same quotes.
Never mind the same NYDN that ran that vile Linda Stasi op-ed blaming the murdered Messianic Jew for the San Bernardino attacks.

There may be other reasons, but when one goes before a town council claiming that solar panels suck up all the sun, they make national news.
So this whack job teacher and her whack job hubby speak and we just assume they made the most convincing argument to say three solar farms surrounding this town is enough.
