One of the guns linked to Islamic militants in the Paris attacks that killed 130 people was exported to the United States in 2013, the head of a Serbian arms factory said Thursday.
Milojko Brzakovic of the Zastava arms factory told The Associated Press that the M92 semi-automatic pistolâs serial number matched one his company delivered to an American online arms dealer in May 2013. It was not clear how the gun got back to Europe.

2. Gun show loophole
3. Mail order with ZERO background check required
Now back to glow-bull warming which is WAY more serious.
“It was not clear how the gun got back to Europe.”
It’s Serbia...
The Chances are very, very good that it never went to the US to begin with.
Obama/McCain supplies dropped to Free Syrian Army ?
I would go with #1.!!!!!
This is setting up a ban on internet gun and ammo sales.
This is convenient for Obama and a “wonderful” opportunity for Lynch to restrict gun rights.
There aren’t any legal online arms dealers, in the US.
My guess is that some existing gun laws were violated.
The only real solution is to create more gun laws. (/sarc)
The gun probably did get here, because the dealer is reputable and seems to do things by the book. But it is a good question how it got back to Europe.
IMHO, somebody on the inside - one of the many Muslim TSA employees or somebody even higher up - let a France-bound jihadi take it back with him. Or her.
The only way to get a pistol online is to have the dealer send it to a FFL in your state, go to the FDL, and pass a background check. Indeed, the oh way legally to purchase a handgun online from an out of state seller, even a private seller, is to use the same process.
UPS and FedEx will only accept firearms for delivery to FFLs. I learned that a few years ago when I returned a rifle to the manufacturer for warranty work.
Why would one ship a Serbian gun to the US and on to Paris when one could simply take it directly to Paris from Serbia?
Political misdirection. “Internationalize” the issue of gun control to do an end-run around the 2nd Amendment, and gain political support against gun rights supporters by painting them as international terrorists.
And they couldn’t send it back directly to you right?
Not only did AP misreport that, but Century Arms is an importer, not a dealer who sells to consumers.
I'd go along with the posters who suspect the Serbian manufacturers records could be suspect. More important, if it was sold in the US is the fact that a European terror group acquiring a weapon in the US is likely using a terror linked straw purchaser.
I’ll bet it was on a manifest heading to the US but never left Europe having been sidetracked before the shipment left.
yes there are. they ship to an FFL in the buyers home state.
There's a big paper trail involved, and IIRC, with public access (at least pre Sept 11, 2001)
Wantwit reporter flunked Jr. HS researching.
I shipped a Smith & Wesson model 22A back to them for warranty work. Believe it or not, it was made without an extractor.
They at least had great customer service. They emailed me a return shipping label and within a week or so, they shipped it back to my back door.
No dealer involved at all after the initial purchase.
BTW, I now really like the pistol.
That was my experience with the rifle I sent for warranty service that was returned by the manufacturer after warranty service. Try buying one though, and it will go through a FFL.
