San Bernardino: FBI Deploys Divers To Find Evidentiary Items In Lake Near Scene Of Shooting

There's been a lot of discussion over the FBI's deployment of divers at Seccombe Lake, which is located in a park near the Inland Regional Center, where Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik shot and killed 14 people. In a news conference held around 3 p.m. PST, David Bowdich, Assistant Director of the FBI's Los Angeles office, said that they were following up on a lead that indicated the two shooters came into the area. He also added that he is not discussing what the dive team is looking for at present, though he reiterated his promise that this investigation will be a methodical, factual investigation. He said that it's still a federal terrorism investigation, and that no stone will be left unturned.

Bowdich also said that neighborhood canvasses by federal agents at a later date is possible during the course of this multi-agency investigation that includes the FBI, ATF, San Bernardino Police Department, and County Sheriff's office.

On a somber note, federal and local law enforcement officials met with the families of the victims who agreed to a meeting, and asked that the media, and the public, respect their privacy at this time. These families have emotional and physical scars that will take years to heal, some might never heal. Concerning the injured, Assistant Director Bowdich said that number has increased to 22 people. A person who did not know they were injured in the attack has now checked himself or herself into a local hospital.

Bowdich said the number one priority right now is to protect the integrity of the investigation should a prosecution occur in the years ahead. He also clarified a little about the alleged 2012 plot in nearby Riverside, California that's been circulating in the media. He did confirm that four people were arrested on terrorism-related charges back in November 2012, but added that they were not planning on attacking the United States. The four men were planning to go overseas, train with the Taliban, and eventually join al-Qaeda in order to kill, among others, American targets. The FBI watched them, and they were never a danger to the immediate community with this incident. The press release of their arrests is featured below:

Four men have been charged for their roles in a plot to provide material support to terrorists by making arrangements to join al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan in order to kill, among others, American targets, announced Andre Birotte, Jr., the United States Attorney in Los Angeles, and Bill Lewis, the Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI's Los Angeles Field Office.

According to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in the Central District of California, the defendants conspired to provide material support to terrorists in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2339A, knowing or intending that such support was to be used in preparation for or in carrying out:

The defendants, listed below, are also known by alias identities listed in the criminal complaint.

Bowdich added that search for evidentiary items in the lake could take days, and that there is nothing dangerous in the immediate area. FBI agents have extensively searched the surrounding park. We don't know if Farook and Malik discarded anything in the body of water, which requires specialized dive teams to conduct this part of investigation effectively.

The FBI is constructing a timeline, so they can retrace the shooters' steps. Bowdich did not go into the legal situation with Enrique Marquez, a friend of Farook, who was allegedly involved in a planned attack that was reportedly aborted in 2012. Marquez bought the rifles used in the shooting last week. The Washington Post  reported that he is cooperating with authorities.

The secuirty cam videos would show if there were three shooters and not two.

I’m betting on three.

No. 3 was probably an informer or minder.

I think Farouk went rogue and this action was not on the schedule.

Adam Housley of FoxNews mentioned that the FBI passed them on the way to the SB facility after the shooting.

The FBI is not a first responder. Makes you wonder if something got away from them.

There is a war between Comey and the White House—we are seeing it surface.

The WH is desperate for this not to be a terror attack because of the optics. Also, they do not want to derail the express train they have planned for “Syrian refugees” over the next 13 months.

The FBI realizes the truth will have to come out, and that the WH could be implicated in some way, in the larger issue of allowing terrorists into America with lax enforcement of immigration laws.

I found it interesting that the main media that compromised the apartment crime scene was MSNBC and NBC, both Comcast entities that are big Obama supporters.

It will take time to unravel, but there is much more to the SB massacre than the storyline we are being fed.

Please elucidate on the war between Comey and the WH.

Paul Ryan, sporting a new beard, is now trying to ramrod stuff thru the house to expedite more Syrian refugees, presumably muslim.

Also Griff Jenkins and Greta's buddy Joe the homicide detective were inside the apartment getting their prints all over everything, particularly those deadly .22 caliber pellets that were being used for shrapnel in those bombs (no kidding, that's what they said) and that sinister can of RemOil that was sitting on a shelf.

Reading the on-line park reviews, the pond is a murky cesspool.

It was the LA FBI that first announced this was terrorism, not the DC HQ.

Last Friday, there was a very strained press conference, where Comey was not allowed to address the press until Loretta Lynch got there. That was to make sure he did not stray from the party line.

But his LA counterpart already spilled the beans, and I think that was arranged internally by the FBI higher ups. They knew the WH wanted this wrapped up and contained.

As for the apartment, FoxNews is not blameless, but they went in after the initial press surge by MSNBC, NBC and CNN was finished.

The damage was already done.

The question is, who allowed this—the WH or the FBI?

What we saw was that there was no fingerprint dust and a sloppy job of gathering evidence, as other evidence was still there —ie—the paper in the shredder basket, etc.

Who had vested interest in compromising the crime scene—the FBI or the WH? And the media is the lackey of the WH.

Things that make you go hmmmm.

As for Ted Williams and Griff Jenkins, they are two bozos for whom the Pete Principle should have gone into effect long ago.

Ted, being a former DC homicide detective, should have known better, but then, he is not the brightest bulb in the chandelier and never has been. Since the 2002 Malvo shootings in DC, he has been the master of the obvious on Greta.

So, did they find anything connected to Hussein’s Perfect Couple?

I don’t know. It was reported yesterday that they are looking for a hard drive, which the two might have thrown in the lake.

So, this “story” is still process, not evidential fact.
