Tom Ridge: Trump is an "embarrassment" to GOP, the country

Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge said Wednesday that Donald Trump is an "embarrassment" to the Republican Party and the country.

At a Manchester, New Hampshire campaign event for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Ridge dismissed Trump as a serious presidential contender.

"I think Donald Trump is about celebrities, he's about publicity, he's not about bringing a serious mindset toward trying to address the wide range of security challenges in this country," he said.

Ridge, who supports Bush for president, said he would never vote for Trump.

Ridge is an effective a pundit as he was director of Homeland Security - made a few statements then went into the hinterlands...another one who supposedly had conservative credentials until he didn’t....

“I am truly becoming more and more concerned by how many Republican politicians I thought were Conservative but are, in fact, unAmerican.

Anyone else realising the same horrible thing?”

Enough masks slipped between 2010 and 2012 that I am not surprised by any individuals, but I am surprised by the scope of it all. With the exception of the early Gingrich House, I think it is objective to say the GOP has not brought one good thing to the table since Reagan, and has been an active accomplice with the Democrats many times over.

The masks are truly off. Trump is appealing to a significant portion of the GOP electorate...and the GOP-e is, by extension, showing what it thinks of his supporters.

Question: Did Tom Ridge ever call Jim Jeffords or Arlen Specter an embarrassment to the party? Did he ever call Chappaquiddick Ted Kennedy an embarrassment to the country?

How about Jimmy Carter?

Tom Ridge is a perfect example of a broken political system where incompetence, cronyism, connections and the Peter Principle rule. Everything he ever promoted turned out as a disaster.

There was an article about a big Jeb Bush supporter who is now in Hillary’s pocket. It’s about the club of political elites in both Parties taking care of their own, and screwing America. They GOP elites play conservatism, when the ultimate plan is to play Americans against each other while they all on both sides reap the reward. That’s why Wall St got bailed out so the rotten system could be funded.

Hey, Tommy Ridge, you were a loser when you were governor of Pennsylvania, you were a loser when you headed up the Department of Fatherland Insecurity with your stupid color coded so-called terrorist threat warning system, and, by your stupid comments about Donald Trump and your support for that retard Jebbie Bush, you are STILL a loser!

Don’t forget that they have had much more direct exposure due to the Nation of Islam. NoI is a bizzaro heresy, but does incorporate a great deal of the standard Islamic muck.

Memo to the RNC!

We are taking back our party!!

All the Rinos & GOPe can become Democrats and leave us to hell alone!

You can draft Mitt Romney for your 3rd Party GOPe ticket.

My rankings are exactly the same as yours, though I have Rand Paul at #3 and it stops there. He has no shot, however.

Sadly, though, I truly believe the GOP would rather lose (and allow more damage to be inflicted) than unite behind Trump in the event he gets the nomination.

Not a thought about the country or the people, just their position.

Cruz is still my #1, but I would vote for Trump in a heartbeat. There is no #3 on my list.

Same position. For me, Trump has been trending up and is starting to nip at Cruz's heels.

It is people like Ridge that deny the truth and want to be so “Politically Correct” that they will make stupid statements like that.

Truth hurts by a helmet!

Listening to Ridge and these pukes call out Trump is typical. Trump signed a loyalty pledge. Apparently loyalty is applied only for themselves. Jeb and Graham to name two. These two clowns maybe rate 4% combined in polls. Trump is winning more people over and they can’t handle it. I hope Trump continues to surge all the way to the nomination and may the GOPe rest in peace.
