"Ted Cruz has done perhaps the best job in the state, frankly," said unaligned South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott of the Texas senator's organization, going on to add, "It's not going to help my friends who are serving with me, but the truth is the truth. He's done a really good job laying the foundation for a really long time."

Lots of compliments and not just from Sen. Scott. Cruz has put together a good ground game in a number of states. Leadership in action.

Trump is now and has been killing it in SC. He is leading bigtime and Rubio and Carson are blocking Cruz. They will likely both still be in the race at that time.

Lots of people ARE for Ted Cruz . . but, thankfully, most of them post at The Right Scoop and not here.

The question is whether Mr. Steady has been preparing for the wrong war. Trump might overstep, might overshoot, but he might also have a better idea of what he is facing. He isn’t fighting yesterday’s war.

I suppose it might be a concern.

It would be out of character for Cruz to be that far off track but anything is possible with Trump seeming to be writer/director/star of the show so far.

At any rate, I'm hoping for Cruz but would be perfectly satisfied with Trump.

Rubio is a dead man walking. He will finish no better than fourth in each of Iowa and New Hampshire. In a year without a favorite son in either state that’s the fat lady singing. South Carolina wants to pick a winner, not award a consolation prize.

This race will be Trump vs Cruz heads up after New Hampshire. And at this point the GOPe goes Cruz.

Look for Rubio and Carson to stay in through SC. Rubio and Cruz are duking it out for a distant second. I have predicted a final two man race with Trump winning and Cruz running distantly second. That’s how I see it shaking out.

It’s a common wonkish issue. There isn’t supposed to be anything new about the Constitution, if it is supposed to be a static affair.
