I hope you are right, but I doubt it. We lack leaders and organization. Americans are currently devoted to the heady philosophy of; eating,(look at the obesity); drinking, drugging, copulating, evacuating the bowels and snoring a truly bestial view hard to throw off.

FINALLY! Someone who “gets it”. The problems with the government, the progressives, the liberals, the politicians, etc., are symptoms of the underlying disease you cited above. The problem is the worthless government-sucking slime electorate who have allowed this to happen over several decades. Greed, dependency and complacency have herded them like sheep to do exactly what they were told, and they have yet to awaken from their gluttonous drug-addled snoring to even realize what they have done.
In by opinion, your “bestial view” is right on. There are lots of exceptions, but I doubt they are enough to bring back what has been lost. It would be like trying to sweep back the tide with a broom.
