I would add this comment which I think could be proven....if you took the thirty US states which were mostly rural in nature against the twenty states which which were highly urbanized, there would be a big difference between the two in gun usage and mass shootings.

I think alot of this relates to drug usage (legal and illegal type). You might pull a gun on some guy breaking into a house and have to use the gun....but if you drug-tested the idiot who broke in and why he was aggressive in nature...he’s high on something. It’s the same way when you have some 16-year-old kid in Philly try to rob a corner grocery and he gets shot by the cop...the kid is probably high on something as well.

I agree that drug use contributes to violent crime, but illegal drug use by rural kids is almost comparable to that of urban kids. Adults tend to use illegal drugs about equally in both rural and urban areas.
