I can get an AR lower for $60 locally. I have one not built yet and I am thinking about getting another. And I’ll purchase a few mags, too.
Then why do the police forces have them?
This is not where the nation should go. We need to look at the threats to our safety â all of them â wisely, and pursue policies that are proportionate to those threats. And make sure that, in the process, we donât lose sight of who we are as a nation. But we must, indeed, act and not let this latest atrocity fade into memory.
Step 1: License and Regulate ALL persons hiding behind the 1st Amendment for Profit or Gain.
Background checks for all prospective Journalist’s, If any Deliberate or False statements have EVER been made you do not qualify.
ANy Licensed Journalist making deliberate or false statements to the Public in ANY FORM, shall be guilty of a Felony. Punishable by a Mandatory 5 years in Prison.
What does more damage to society as a whole?
A Newspaper or News Station that reaches Millions of people and fills their heads full of KNOWN LIES and OBFUSCATIONS.
or
A couple of whackos that kill a few or few dozen innocent people?
in the first instance there are MILLIONS OF VICTIMS!
The victims were not allowed to have guns.
Only the terrorists.
The carnage, as it always does, came from Obama voters/liberals/Demonrats.
It’s quite clear. It can be said of almost all guns, that at some time they were legally purchased by someone or some company some time. Existence of guns should have no bearing on the possession and use of these firearms by these terrorists, but the writer is relying on the false narrative as justification to attack the mere existence of firearms.
There is no point in accepting the lefty premise that guns are part of the problem. The appropriate argument ender is “Tim McVey didn’t use a gun”. Omar Abdel-Rahman didn’t use a gun. Not one of the high jackers on 911 used guns. So, Piss Off.
AR lowers are insanely cheap these days. Palmetto State Armory had a complete assembled upper & the lower parts kit with about everything but a receiver and maybe sights for a very low price the other day. $400.- something ?

As a society, we are in a sick place: The U.S. infatuation with guns is bordering on a society-wide suicidal impulse

Pretty soon the only ones who will be able to get guns will be criminals, drug cartels, and terrorists. Just like in Mexico, because that's what kind of a country Obama and his thugs are turning us into. But at least Mexico doesn't have the Jihadis... yet.
I have done two, and they are loads of fun. The first is a 9mm with an RRA upper. It's the favorite of my daughter, cheap to shoot, and puts a grin on everyone's face.
By the second, I was getting good at knowing exactly what I wanted. Giessele trigger, Ergo grip, extended trigger guard, topped by an AIM (Spike's) 5.56mm mid-length upper.
Some call it the "Barbie" gun for men. I think the "Lego gun" is more appropriate, or maybe "Mutant G.I. He-Man Masters of the Universe gun".
The semi auto guns used in these shootings have been around for at least half a century in the case of AR15s and at least a century for handguns. Until recently these types of attacks were unheard of. The problem is what is happening to society rather than the types of arms available. You cant childproof the entire country.
Scott, show us please where the constitution says we are allowed to own only the kinds of firearms you Scott might approve of? ( it’s appalling that the mass media prints such patent fabrications )
“Whichever, the carnage came from legal guns”
Not legal in California, eh? Clearly making them more illegal would work...not.
Twit.
“I thought the perps used AK74s, which are not legal in CA?”
The Conservative Treehouse got it wrong, it was AR type rifles. One DPMS, the other S&W M&P.
All that said, they were still illegal in CA...
Personally, I think the benefits of regular citizens having such weapons far outweigh the downsides.
In a lib’s twisted thinking, failed gun laws are just like Keynesian economics when it fails, as usual: you just didn’t do it long enough and apply enough $$$ to have made a difference.
And jack-booted thugs.
[[The law of the land, regrettably, is that the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution protects an individualââ¬â¢s right to own a gun. ]]
Bias Much LA Times? There’s NOTHING regrettable about the constitution squinty-eyed ignoramuses- The reason you are able to express your ignorant viewpoints at all is because people owned guns and DEFENDED your right to free speech you buffoons! Go pound sand you mentally stunted morons
They know perfectly well that gun control isn't about stopping crime. It's about rendering 'the masses' defenseless in the face of crime, terrorism and most importantly the TYRANNY they wish to impose.
They're leftists. The issue is never the issue. The issue is always The Revolution.
Oh no! Please forgive me! We wouldn't want a terrorist to break any ENVIRONMENTAL laws!
SAVE THE PLANET!
(Humans...mehhhh..)
